So this summer i plan to drop somewhere around $1000 in my 2003 pro 5... Im not sure what i want to do... can anyone give suggestions to what can be done around this price range? I have about 86 000 kms on it now so i will be needing to do my 96kms servicing..keep that in mind lol... If anyone could help that would be great... I was thinking springs and struts but let me know what you guys come up with...

Thanks again,

Will the $1000 include the 96k service?

How much does the 96k serviced usually cost around?
But in both cases 96k service is not part of the $1000

Depends were you go for service and where you get the parts. I bought my timing belt and water pump kit on eBay for about $140 shipped, paid about $200 labour to install the timing belt, water pump, plugs and wires. At Mazda I think you would be looking at $700+ for parts and labour.

Rims/Tires, Intake (I think you already have it), Exhaust, Lowering Springs... those would be all in your range... you MAYBE able to get even more then 1 too depending if your going new, used...etc.

For the $1000 quite a bit can be done it just depends on what your looking to do. Since you mentioned suspension I would change the springs and struts. $440 for Tokico HP struts and around $300 for a set of H&R springs, $160 for endlinks, $80 for alignment ($59 at DWM if your a donating member).

And these are lowering springs?... are they cosmetic? or performance? as i would be going for more performance than cosmetic...

u won't find much "performance" in just springs

Performance meaning usefulness... i dont want to lower my ride to much...

i dont think u have to worry about 96K service, I know lot of ppl that gone over 110000 km without doing it, at 130k i think would be good time to get it done, IMO

oh, that sounds good lol

So basicly either springs/struts, Exhaust or rims/tires....
I was also debating the CF route... hood,grill,eyelids...maybe interior CF dash...

^ You could probably do both rims/tires and exhaust for $1000

Keep your eyes open the next couple months in the commerce section.

i would say rims/tires or springs/struts

h&r's as mentioned are argueable the best performance spring for our cars. not too much of a drop and good and stiff. more geared towards better handling vs the look.

don't blow your budget on exhaust, all it does is make noise it won't net you anything big unless you are boosting and or building. even with intake/header/hiflow/catback you might see a 5-10whp gain in the TOP END. but thats even being generous i think.

How about the Carbon Fiber route mentioned... I was thinking carbon fiber hood, eyelids, grill... and maybe the interior the actual kits not the interior sticker lol... any thoughts?

^ you could probably do the hood, eyelids and some interior pieces for $1000 assuming you bought them new. Contact Crazycaker if your looking for a cf hood and eyelids.

for 1k, I would suggest to get the
fake autoexe lip less than $300
lowering spring + install around $400

so you are left with 300, maybe get a set of HID?
