Just thought I'd share these few pics. The Brand is Eaglite, I bought them barely used from RC Bear at a good price. 4500K....clean install and I'm happy with the overall increase in visability...especially in some of the back roads in my area.
Ballast Location, clean, secure and out of site from prying eyes (except that I have now shown the world...LOL). Oh yeah, I had to move the location of the grounding block over (repeated on the passenger side).

RC Bear's car on the right, mine on the left for side by side comparison:

Couple of new pics...RC Bear sent them to me. We didn't want to risk taking out the bulbs ($150 for the pair), so we swapped the entire housing. It would have been nicer if RC Bear had the Black Housing..LOL. RC Bear had already had a good wiring setup that I trusted (we go to the same RC Car Track...one of the best RC Car drivers in Canada). We were lucky enough to have the right bolts/nuts to install the ballasts in the above pictured location.

Do you also notice an increase in glaire? All you need to do now, is put in hella 90mm projectors to give a true cut-off line and no glaire.

TO be honest....its perfect....The cut off is fine...I will try to take a picture tonight against a white wall or my white garage.
When I had RC Bears Car beside mine....the beam pattern was identical...I was quite surprised.

im considering an HID kit but this won't be till later on (much later).
However, what about putting in the Hella projectors with my new PIAA Xtreme Force bulbs. The projector should focus more light would it not?

quick question.
If you pull off the light housing does the alighnment of the light get screwed up? Or are the mounting holes nice and tight?

the alignment on RC Bear's car was exactly the same when I put it on mine. The adjustment screws are on the housing itself.

To be king of the night, all you now have to do is get rid of those shitty stock fog lights and get real ones!

Be Carefull, HID light output patern should not be identical to that of halogen. It should be sharper. the beam pattern should be something like _/--_/--. your halogen lenses were not designed for the higher lumens of the xenon output, thus, more stray light will be scatered. You can not notice this with the naked eye behind the wheel of your car, but other drivers do notice this more. I highly recommend going with a Projector based setup.
Plus, retrofitting HID's into halogen optics is kinda illegal.

btw, if you want to see a projector based hid setup made out of OEM headlights, check out my previous post somewhere in this section. It was done with stock Jetta Headlights, retrofitted with hella 90mm projectors. I am considering doing this to my JETTA as well. BTW, this can easily be adapted to work on the Protege sedan and wagon headlights, you will need the ford or bmw bi-xenon projectors in this case.
