I took a look around and didnt find anything. Hopefully someone can help me out.

So Back in sept my deck would not turn on, I went to my sound guy who told me the power source failed, the fuses were all good we couldnt figure out why it wouldnt power up, so being proactive we decide to wire it directly to the battery with an inline fuse and a switch. Well go figure I am sick and tired of having to reset all my settings on the deck everytime I flick the switch on and off. Does anyone know where I could wire this into SAFELY with the car power? I was going to use the cigarette lighter but I am not 100% sure if I should or shouldnt.

^ I can't answer your question with great detail, but I know most decks have 2 power sources, one is a constant and one is switched. Are both failed, or just the constant?

Just the constant has failed, the switched one as far as I was told acts as a remote wire jsut telling the unit to power on when the key is in the ignition.

so why wouldn't you just use the line you currently have? you don't have to switch it off, the ign key should do that for you.

Jeff sorry the constant power has failed so we replaced the power source directly thru the battery. It no longer uses the harness for power there for canceling out the ign wire.
