get some quality wax at Can Tire and do it yourself.

It's the best way to check out your ride for chips and loose bolts.

Not technologically challenging and satisying results

I've always been told to use zymol (not sure if you can get in Canada), Meguires (not named for Mark), and i thing Mothers, but I'm not sure about that one...

The thing is there's so many different levels of wax and polish, that means there's sooooo many different ways to do it all...

(also been told to wait until the weather is pretty warm before you do it....like 20+)

Nick, you lazy bum! lol ... http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif wax your car yourself!

but if you really want somebody else to do it, these guys are awesome. lots of locations so you can even find one in the eastside. i think 2-step wax is $59 and you can go even higher and spend $199 on high speed wax or whatever. sky's the limit.

have fun!

I use Mother's pure yellow hard carnuba wax. Putting on two coats by hand is an all day affair. For detailing in between washes I use meguiars quick detailer. Although I do have some swirls in the clearcoat that have to be buffed out due to a automatic car wash that I was told is touchless. Grrrrr...Never use automatic car washes!

Hey Nick the guys are right as long as you have some time do it yourself...its more rewarding trust me

I spent about 4-5 hours the other weekend doing it myself but man was it worth it and I felt great about my car afterward.

Goto Canadian Tire and buy the Mothers 3 step wax, polish, shine program thing. Itll cost you a bit but man when youre done with it, man does the car gleam. Look at the pics i posted of my white rims you can see the reflection of the whole street in my car, and that wasa week after i had done it, and it still looks like that now

Ok well waxing isn't as easy as you all think it is. My room mate is detailer and he learned off a few really reputable shops.

First off you need to de-wax and remove all contimenents from your paint. Usually using Dish soap works really well for this.

If you have any swirls in your paint I would suggest getting Meguires paint swirl remover... you only really need to do your hood, roof and well in a p5's case no need for the trunk.

Then you get a paint sealer, the one that I hear the best results are Klasse. You put a few coats of this and your set. The more coats you have the better the protection

Apply any wax or sealer or protectant in a circular motion but remove it with some terry cloths in a straight line.. no circles as more swirls will appear on your paint. Always beat the cloth in the air to remove any excess wax build up on the cloth while you are removing the wax or sealant. Try to have 5 or 6 peices to do your entire car a few times.

Then you get 100 carnauba wax, and add that onto the few coats of sealant ( klasse) this will add depth and more shine to it. Maguire has some good Gold series stuff at CT it's $19 or something like that....

When you wash your car try to only use water, if you waxed it properly and used the good stuff you will only need some water and mit. Rinse and chamois. Chamois in straigh lines again... not circles... more swirls...

This should give you some good results.. all of those steps should take you about 6-8 hours to complete... but you only do it once... you can wash your car with dish soap again in the fall and reapply some klasse again and your wax.

You shouldn't need to wax your car more then 5-6 times over the entire summer. Also if you require soap, get the Zimol or Zymol I forget car soap... make sure you dont' get the wax stripper stuff.

This will give you some serious shine....

You can also do the Meguires steps 1-2-3 with a clay bar and you should also be good, but for best results use the above recommendation.

Here is my friends web site. www.torontodetailing.com

He is my roomy, I wouldn't suggest him if I didn't see his work. His car's paint is amazing... It's 8 years old and it looks better then my 4 month old paint.

Take a look

Never use dish soap! I've read it a thousand times, Dishes are much harder than your paint. Congealed food is tougher than road tar/bugs etc. Jcs, if your roommate is using dish soap on cars I wouldn't take mine there. Wash your car using a car wash solution and then to dewax use step one of the Mother's or Meguiar's three step system.

Chopstick youre gonna love that stuff once you use it! Its awesome

I cant remember the exact total, but make sure you pick up a roll of like 10-12 towels that they sell in the Canadian Tire to dry/wash the car with youll need that many when waxing and polishing

I think when everything was said and done with the towels and the 3-step i had spent 60 bucks? Cant remember exactly, but its worth it

All this wax talk is silly. I am going to stop washing my car so the paint just dies! When it does die, it will be a great excuse to re-paint my car in the style of the "General Lee"!

YEEEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWW!

(I know Kurt is drooling about my idea. I bet Kurt thought Duke was the shit, Bow was the coolest, Cooter was the best tech-head, Uncle Jeese was wise, Daisy was the bomb, and Boos Hog was his daddy!http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Damn! You too! We should sue! I swear I was so pissed off when I went to the "TOUCHLESS" ESSO wash at Yonge and Steeles, I was horrified to see the dirty and scratchy swirling thing coming at me! And to top it all off the wash sucked, it made the car MORE dirty, I swear!!!
