Painting Steel Wheels

I have the stock 14" steelies right now... eventually when my tires need replacing I want to upgrade to 15 or 16" but the tires are practically brand new so I'm sticking with them for a while...

The problem is that they are black and my wheel covers are silver... if possible I would like to paint the wheels to match so they don't look so sh*tty behind the covers. Anyone done this and know if it looks good? Or is it pure ghetto styles?
