Your Yellow MP3 is a bit different than mine.....I have the Nardi badge on the steelring and it's grey + black leather instead of all black. Maybe yours is from US?
LondonMp3
December 11th, 2008, 03:47 PM
Ya it was import from the US...South Carolina to be exact

Never realized yours was a yellow (imported) MP3. That makes your car VERY rare...NICE!
Now get those deletes (they look better then the fogs IMHO), and a properly fitting shift knob (do you know what happened to the Nardi steering wheel? That one is obviously from a P5):whip:

MP3 shifters have a different thread pitch then most other Mazdas. Best way to find out is if you can easily put on a stock Protegé knob. If you can, then you don't have the original shifter, but you'd want to upgrade to a short shifter anyway ;)

Ive got a short shift in there already so ill be able to get a normal protege knob.

I think I recall reading something about a theft recovery.

December 18th, 2008, 12:37 PM
Sounds like my car...i just went thru a whole thing about my car being branded salvage (meaning it was written off before and repaired but illegally sold to me)...and it was a theft recovery from North Carolina

That would explain all the stuff that is missing from your car that is normally found on MP3s...

That sucks. What needs to be done in order to get insurance or is that not possible because of the salvage branding?

shifter/knob (although you like your short shifter)
stock HU
Steering wheel
axleback?

Bazooka sub, shift knob, axleback, floormats and foglights were all me. Apparently its a different steering wheel and the fron seats match the rear. Im not sure about the door skins but i think all interior parts are from the same part car.

it IS a different steering wheel...see below.
And please take a closer pic of the door skins; the fabric should match what you see in this picture:

Since the steering wheel is not original do you know if you've got a drivers and passenger side airbag?

My car went thru a structural and safety test so im certainly hoping i got airbags lol

Good news! My mom located a new insurance company that is in the dark about the salcage branding as it has been settled and my car is planned to be on the road as of May 10th. Just need to locate a rear swaybar and endlinks and eventually do a brake job sometime during the summer. I also intend to do the body work once i find a good shop and fix all the cosmetic problems.

So as my car is soon gonna be on the road i have certain plans....
1. Put racingbeat rear swaybar in (New endlinks too)
2. Fog light deletes
3. Fix rear lip either one on car or new one i picked up (one will be sold after decision ;))
4. Paint some interior and under the hood plastics gloss black
5. Paint brake calipers dupli color kit red
6. Get fender damaged fixed (hit and runs, F***)
7. Fix how muffler sits
Maybe more depending on cash flow...

So update...
I got the car back on the road yesterday. No problem getting it going ,still had half a tank :). After making a trip to newmarket i hit up dwm and got my swaybar and fog deletes. Installed the deletes yesterday and am waiting on endlinks and bushings for swaybar. Pics will come soon once i get the rear lip repaired.
Glad to drive a real car lol not the sisters jetta (no balls and gay as hell)
