Has anybody used Nu Finish car wax? Is it as good as they say? I am not into spending 6hrs with a three step process. Lately I have just been using Meguires Gold ultra shine and although I am pretty happy with it. Since I don't have a big enough garage to wax my car and it's usually too sunny when I do have the time, I was wondering how good Nu Finish actually is especially since you can do it in the sun.

I have learned over the years. If it is too good to be true, it probably is. Stick with the Meguiar's. Good products are backed by good people.
Besides you should always look at taking care of your car as time well spent.

It is not a matter of time well spent, more like a matter of actually having the time. I just don't have 6hrs to spend.

Do you have 6 hours to sleep?
Spend those hours waxing. A good looking car is better than sleep.

stay away from that NuFinish crap. it totally ruined the finish on my MX6. had to get it repainted before i could sell it. stick with Mother's or Meguiars and buy yourself a random orbital buffer...

I totally agree with spish. That stuff stucks ass!! Crappy Tire has been selling Nu Finish since the early 70's and I bet it hasn't changed. Go with Meguiars Classic Gold or Mothers three step if you have the time.

mother's is the mother of all waxes........unless u have
$68 USD to spend on Zymol. it's not the same as the stuff at crappy tire. It is a 2 step process, and this shit is the shit. It smells like banana at the final step is suppose to be applied with you bare hand. I polished my maaco paint job on my swift last year and it looked sooooooooooooo sweet http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I've used Mothers, Maguires, etc. and they work great but I have to say that Nu Finish is the best wax I've ever used. Man, when it rains the water beads on my car are about 1/2 inch high!!! Try doing that with Mothers! And it goes on much easier than conventional wax. I've been using it on my car for the past 8 months and I've got nothing but good things to say about it. Sorry to hear that some of you guys have had bad experiences with it, but I think it's great stuff. I'll admit though that the reason it may be working so well for me is that I put on a coat of Mothers about 4 weeks before I tried Nu Finish.

Nu Finish may not give quite the same deep shine as the expensive products, but it lasts very well since it's a synthetic, not a wax. It's easy to buff off, and is a good choice if you don't want to spend a lot of time and money. Certainly better than not putting ANY protection on your paint. The label says it can be applied in the sun, but I always found it gave a better result out of the sun. Do it in the evening if you have to.

The first wax I applied to the P5 was NuFinish paste, I have to say it shines pretty well, and the protection is superb. The stuff is synthetic as frankm previosuly mentioned so it lasts a long time, more than Mother and Meguiars Wax. It's easy to apply too.
I stayed away afterwards from it because I heard it apparently removes paint with every application, although I didn't notice on the P5. I use Mother's cleaner paste wax for protection with a light coat of Zymol liquid wax on top for shine now.

they put the car in the commercial through a year worth of car washes, and it still looks good, but what about after a year of driving on the road and getting dirt and salt and crap on it, how good would it look then?

I have been using Nu Finish for 14 years on my cars - 89-jetta, 93 - YJ, 96 Acura - GS-R, 99- Explorer, 91 - sunfire,
02 - C240, 03 - MP5.
I find the wax doesn't last for more than 2-3 months - so you have to reapply more than once a year.
I haven't had any problems with it.

I tried Eagle One Wax as you Dry a week and a half ago and so far it's been excellent. I just washed my car again today because I got about a million bugs splattered all over the front and I must say they came off a lot better then with the Turle Wax I used to put on it.
I agree with hawkwind. I just don't have 6 hrs to kill waxing. I've waxed a few times and I've only been able to finish the whole car twice because I get bored. 6 hours spent sleeping or doing something cool like kyaking or hiking is definately a hell of a lot better for me. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

The Canadian Tire Zymol is apparently excellent, (yup the $20 bottle) according to this review.

STAY AWAY from Nu Finish wax, it's crap and will screw up your paint! Â The only thing it's good for is your rims and even then it's not that good. If you're going to get over-the-counter stuff just stick with Meguiars. Â Meguiars NXT gives a nice look but unfortunitly only lasts a month or so. Â If you really want to take care of your paint and have it look amazing, you should get some pro products from makers like Klasse or Poorboys but they aren't available in stores like crappy tire, you either have to find a speciality shop or order online.
