I had a hard time figuring this one out so I thought I'd post this up to save some frustration for others. I have a Compustar 2W900FMR, but this programming sequence should work with other models that have the turbo timer feature. If your remote start works, then you should be able to activate the turbo timer as it uses the same e-brake wire to function.
These instructions are not available in your user manual.

***Note: You must be within visible range of your car in order to do this successfully. As always, perform the instructions at your own risk.

Use the 2-way (LCD) remote to complete the following step by step instructions.

Step 1:
Press buttons I + II together until your siren chirps and your park lights flash once. You have now entered the programming menu.

Step 2:
Press button IV seven times. Each time you press the button, wait for a corresponding chirp and park light flash before pressing again. After the 7th flash, wait for your car to acknowledge that you've selected the correct feature to activate. If you have done this successfully, your park lights should flash, quickly, 7 times.

Step 3: (you cannot perform this step until steps 1 and 2 have been completed successfully. Repeat steps 1 and 2 if necessary)
Press button II to activate the turbo timer feature. Your park lights should flash twice to confirm that you have completed the programming sequence successfully.

You can now enable/disable the turbo timer feature by pressing buttons III + IV together for 0.5 seconds.

How the turbo timer works:

When you arrive at your destination, follow the steps to put your car in reservation mode. Pull the key out of the ignition and your car will continue to run for 2 minutes from the moment you have engaged the parking brake. Exit your car and arm the system. The auto arm feature does not work while using the turbo timer. The bonus is that the remote start feature will still work if you put the car in reservation mode before exiting. You can now cool down your turbo properly and automatically!

Enjoy.

Thanks for the how-to!

Awesome write-up Chris! I have been looking for this info for long times!

/EDIT: Just figured out why my remote is a bit diff, didn't think it'd matter but I guess it does, I have a blue remote aka 2W900FMR-2nd which you cannot turn turbo on with. You can program it, but I cannot turn it on. Read post below.

I ask because I was told mine wouldn't work until I hooked up the e-brake trigger wire. Mine is wired as an automatic using the neutral trigger wire so that I do not have to dick around with reservation mode.

I think Mike *may* have touched on this, and this question isn't for me since I don't have a turbo, but this may be of interest for others. You said the car would run for 2 minutes following the engagement of the hand brake. If someone has "ungrounded" the wire for the handbrake so that they can disable DRLs due to having HIDs installed, would your how-to still work?

Gah, I think I just found the problem. I have a 2W900FMR-2nd (blue) remote. I'm coming across info that makes it seem as though this doesn't do turbo timer?! Sad!

Perhaps I can use someone's 2W900FMR turbo (grey) remote and reprogram it to my car then enable...hmmm...

You have to clear all programming on your unit from the remote and start from scratch. Dicking around with the remote a couple of times, you may have programed some shit you didn't neccessarily want to do, and now your turbo timer doesn't work.

I have the same remote as you do and I did the turbo timer setup without issue. The only thing you need to be aware of is that's you're using the MAIN remote and not the one noted as "2nd remote" (or something like that) ... The backup remote won't work, you need to go out and buy the proper MAIN remote for your unit and everything works like it's supposed to.

No need to start from scratch.

Do you have the blue or grey/white remote? That is key here because the blue remote cannot turn the turbo timer mode on/off as that button combo is tied up for 2nd car function.

No need to buy another remote, I should be able to program anyone's grey/white remote to my car and turn it on. Once it's on it should work. Just won't be able to see the little "turbo" icon on the remote or turn it on/off. In theory at least, we'll find out tonight at BP's. ;)

I was having the same issue as you Mike, but then I read up on compustars site and even visited Jeff (Audio Heaven) and got him to have a look. He did it for the first time, but then as I disconnected the battery another time, the turbo timer was no longer.

I didn't want to drive out to see Jeff again, so I went on the compustar site and visited another shop that installs compustars and borrowed one of the manuals for my unit. Since i was trying to get it to work the way Christian has noted, it wasn't working. I read up on the sequence for clearing all programming using the remote (or just disconneting the battery for a couple of minutes to wipe it clean).

After that, i programmed it up and turbo indicator and all the other cool doo-hickeys and features worked like they were supposed too. Don't know why you're thinking a grey/white remote will help. Not saying it won't but I haven't heard of such an outlandish hypothesis.

No. He busted the remote. I had to get a replacement. It's not a 2nd. Confirmed.

EDIT: You added the "2nd" later. Didn't bother going back to read. Yup, you're screwed!

6. Light Blue of CN3: You need to tie this wire into the emergency brake for Manual Transmission Mode or
Turbo mode. Most emergency brake wires will show 12V at rest when the ignition is on or ground when you set
the brake. In either Manual Transmission or Turbo Mode, Engine stays running for two minutes after key off.Confirms teh outlandish hypothesis.

Thanks for the remote Chris, teh experimentz proved worthwhile!

just wire up the light blue to a 12v switched source, then you can turn the turbo timer on manually and have the option to disengage if your trips are super short.

Why not just wire up to ebrake? Is too hard?

For short trips, can always cancel timer after removing key and tapping brake.

Okay,

I'm having some weird issue going on with my turbo timer. I can take the keys out, and close the door to my car. However, the car only runs for about 20 seconds, then it shuts off and arms itself.

When I try to "turn on/off" the turbo timer on the remote (yes, the main, blue, PRO compustar) i get a "FAIL" message.

I tried to reprogram and it still doesnt work. But, the wires must be connected properly because it allows me to take the keys out and everything, no?

just so you guys know if you want the turbo timer to be active and you have the lcd remote that says 2nd you can still turn the feature on with the back up remote insteadof the main I believe.
