Hey guys, I'm lookin' for a good local garage or garages to take my car in to get done up. I have most of the parts ready to be installed, but there is a lot of work to be done. I'd do it all myself if I had a lift, the proper tools and the experience, lol, but I don't.

These are some of the things I need the shop to specialize in:
- installing the body kit
- custom body work (molding, cutting panels, smoothing)
- installing turbo kit and gauges
- doing rear disc conversion / big brake kit
- installing exhaust
- installing suspension and 18" wheels with minimal to no rub
- painting vinyl interior
- custom exterior paintjob (two-tone, custom lines)
- rebulding engine or components (cams, pistons etc.)
- installing clutch, differential and other drivetrain parts
- installing ground wires and miscellaneous engine work

If you know of any places that do a killer job on any of these things, lemme know! I'm especially concerned about the exterior work. I don't want a butchered-up job done on the body kit, the bodywork and the paint. I'm looking for car show quality work, even if it means spending a little more money.

I know Picaso, in woodbridge is top notch and the have a lot of show cars under their belt. Look them up for a quote but any shop will want to see the parts and car before giving an accurate quote. You arent looking for a single shop to do everything are you? If you are they are just going to out source everything. Most of the install stuff you have listed is pretty basic but if you havnt purchased your internals for the motor yet, dont. Have it taken to your engine builder and have them order the parts or give you the specs after honing the walls. Chances are off the shelf original, spec wont be your best bet. Thats really about 5 shops worth of stuff, so theres a lot of work on your end just finding places to do it all for you without getting taken too bad. BTW Welcome

You are about a month late, a good friend of mine is closing his custom body shop here in hamilton as he runs a collision shop in Milton now. He does top notch work. Other than him I would suggest Underworld customs in burlington.

Could you send me some contact info as I will be needing to get some stuff painted in the next little while?

Thanks cruisinblackp5. Yeah, I'll go to a bunch of different shops if I have to get it done right.

BTW Mike, I have a 2000 Protege LX 1.8L, fully-loaded, black. Looking to change the colour 'cause black is tough to keep clean and tough to hide swirls.

Yeah, I've been thinking about all the things I wanna do to my car ever since I bought it a year and a half ago. I've drawn up concepts of the exterior, which I'll eventually touch-up and post, and give to the bodyshop as a reference. I'm looking to make it a competition winner, and if it doesn't attain that status, I'm sure it'll earn mad respect from the import community.

I would, but I don't wanna give away any ideas, lol. JK. Yeah, I'll post 'em when they're done. Just don't hold your breath... I'm a perfectionist, so it has to be just right :P
