I know some of the kids in here have 15'' rims for use on Solo and drag events. How much did you guys spend on rims and rubber and what kinda rims and rubber did you get?

After my bout on the drag strips at Cayuga and my desire to do some solo events in the summer what do you guys recommend within good value that will fit my Pro5?

This info may not be directly relevant to you because I drive a first gen. I got 15x6.5" Konig Heliums with 205-50-15 Falken Azenis Sports. The rims were $149 and the tires were $136 (free install, balance, etc). It also included 20 tunner lugs, and hub rings (no extra cost). I also got wheel locks and my total including shipping from tiretrends.com (in BC) was $1340. It was cheaper than going local even with shipping (only paying GST helped).

If you are ok with only running a 205 tire, there are a bunch of cheap 15x6.5 rims with ~ +40 offset that will fit just fine. (From Konig like Daves, and other brands like that such as the Konig Traffik)

Heliums are light for sure. Then you can get some Falkens or A032R "H" compounds on there if you want value, stickiness and long lasting.

The A032R-HC is a real race tire, and is sticker than the Azenis, but is still long-lasting enough to allow you to drive on it to and from events if you feel like. There are stickier tires but they get more expensive (about $180 each for 205/50/15) and don't last as long.

My Kosei K1 are hopefully almost here from California. I will get either Kumho Ecsta V700 or Toyo RA-1.

I find http://www.discounttiredirect.com/ a good way to find what's available because they let you search by size and bolt pattern then show you all the available wheels. Unlike TireRack's crappy interface which doesn't give you any details.

Then you can find some wheels you like and compare prices locally.

lol EYT .. don't even get me started thinking about the K1's not clearing the calipers !! eeek. I still can't believe the Slipstreams don't fit. I wonder if the real Spoon or Regamaster Evo's would.

My ultimate wheel at the moment is the Weds Sport TC005 because it comes in 15x7.5 +45 http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
