Paul

I finially painted the capilers this weekend. If anyone is on the fence about doing this, I highly recommend it. They look great. Better than the lovely rust they were before.

Paul.

Let the games begin.

i would like to do it soon.. what did you need to buy?

Paul

I used a kit by Foliatec. It comes with a caliper cleaner, paint, and laquor. The cleaner works great after you scrape off any crap with a wire brush.

You'll need:
-the kit,
-wire brush, for cleaning
-small paint brushes
-container for mixing the paint/laquor
-jack stands (for wheel removal)

Have fun!
Paul.

I bought it while driving through Barrie at Performace Improvements. I've seen it in Pacific Mall as well.

CandyAss - if you really do wear tight ass booty shorts, then I will call a WESTSIDE exclusive meet and do a tech session on how to paint brake calipers and use your car as a demo - promise. I can set a date for first week of June.

Tight Ass Booty shorts = WESTSIDE painted calipers

Loose fitting cargo pocket shorts = Stock calipers

Let me know if you are willing and I will post a date. Think I'm joking - just test me. Think I'm being mean - 'hello' free caliper painting? Think I'm a pig - better believe it - OINK!

I'm guessing you want the Foliatec Kit? Check out Performance Imporvements. In the Eastside there is on on Kennedy and York Mills (just north on Kennedy on the westside).

Did you find any chump willing to help you out yet?

What's a good colour to paint on a black protege 5?

cruisinblackp5
June 12th, 2003, 01:57 AM
Thats a personal preference, you can expect to hear every colour in the rainbow, for some reason a lot of proteges paint them red, I would like a brighter colour though liek yellow or a bright green or blue.

I just painted my calipers last Sunday. There are a few additional supplies I can recommend.
A four pak of fruit cups. No so much for the fruit, but for the metal cans (don't use plastic). They're great for mixing the paint. You have to mix it 3:1. I used two old spoons. Three teaspoons of paint to one teaspoon of hardener is enough for one coat of paint on two calipers. Some masking tape is good to have too... unless you've got very steady hands.

fruit cups! damn, that's a good idea... i forget what i used, but it wasn't as good as that!
