yeah, the ractive one will fit.
actually, most of the universal muffler cans are designed so that there is enough clearance b/w the can and the car.
the hangers are usually long enough so that when they fit inside the rubber bushings, the can won't hit against the car or bumper.
but make sure that they install the can parallel to the ground with the use of extra piping from the muffler to the stock exhaust tubing. these fuct up guys did mine and didn't use that extra piping, so basically, my muffler can is kinda pointing down at an angle. they wanted another $50 to fix THEIR mistake... damn mofos.... i should fix that soon, it looks kinda weird sometimes....

a reputable muffler shop will be able to fit a unversal muffler from Ractive or almost any other brand to your P5 or Protege easily.....just up to you on what looks best....i've heard many of the different mufflers on Proteges and P5s, they all sound pretty good, nice deep tone (unlike many civic exhausts!http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif...the Magnaflow series sounds a bit smoother, but otherwise they're all very good sounding....
Also it's upto you on how custom you want the install....i'd prefer to spend a bit more and have the shop make a flange bolt-on and pipe to the muffler so you can keep the old axle-back muffler for safekeeping (you never know when you might need it!http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Bolt-on axle back mufflers from Vibrant and Ractive will retail for around $400 to $500....these are the easiest to put on...or as Dave and Ed have done, custom cat-back at Bruellen for around $800 (and you can keep all the old parts)

yeah....
i'm gonna fix up my messed up can and replace it with a stoopid looking muffler with a dual DTM tip... oh shiet? did i say that? http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif seriously though, i'm gonna just go to this small shop near my house... i'm pretty sure they can adjust it.
