probably the synchro, as it is a known issue with the 02 p5. mine grinds everytime if i shift into 3rd quickly. friggin sucks.

Does Megan make an exhaust for turbo'd P5s? or did you go with the NA one?

Can someone explain the difference between a "turbo" exhaust and an "NA" exhaust? I've been using the Megan exhaust for the past 3 yrs.

edit: and don't tell me that a "turbo" exhaust uses a straight through design for more flow... that just a bunch of marketing BS.

Hey Joe.... I think the Turbo exhaust uses a more straight through design, right?

Hey Joe.... I think the Turbo exhaust uses a more straight through design, right?

prehaps... cause we all know a curved design slows the flow and causes back pressure

mine used to grind. But since, I've changed the gear oil it's been smooth. What happens is that it, sometimes, pops out of gear. annoying.

I didn't know Megan made a turbo back system? I'm assuming that's what you meant. But, in my case, when I get the midpipe I will have 2.5" diameter from the turbo back.

No, its still a cat-back, but they market exhausts for 'turbo' and NA. I think for the P5 though, there is only the NA variant, but I wasn't sure ...

what's the difference? larger id? I'm not too concerned about that. my goal isn't big power. I'm only going to run 8psi at most, and probably 6 daily. I'll set the truboost at 6 and 8. That will be plenty of pep for this car.

if the 2.5" is the NA one no wonder it's so loud and has no gains for NA use

There really isn't much to update. But, I mocked everything up to visualize the setup. I also need to order new gaskets and hardware before I start working on the project. I'm also waiting until the fmic and intake arrive before I begin. I was hoping that they'd show up this week, but that would have been too convenient. My goal is to get the main components installed in a weekend so that I don't have any down time with the car. It is still my daily driver afterall.

If I get all the parts I need this week, I may be able roll into TASR boosted!

hopefully you can relocate the MAF for the fmic before you install it. Save so much time and hassle.

is MAF relocation a real benefit?

I think so, if your planning not to have a dual setup... your car wont feel like its going to stall, or in worst case.. stall completely. Then you'll blow off nicely at the end. My MAF is between the TB and BOV.

do it, it's easy :)

just have it on the cold pipe close to the throttle body and make sure the BOV is at least 15cm away from it.

here's an old pic showing how I have it set up:

with the SSQV I've never heard even a hint of turkey.

wouldnt the difference be resonator vs no resonator?

i think the magnaflow is like that. the turbo exhaust has no resonator, where as the NA exhaust does. thats the only thing i can think of.

The turbo one has less shit in it because turbo cars are quieter by default..

Pretty nice expensive FMIC you got there.

Gonna look good with the red couplers. Cool stuff. :D

a bit off topic but which fmics allow you to use the stock p5 radiator?

I've seen some that use the open space where the stock smic would be.
