Announcement on changes.

The recent forum changes have made a couple of questions pop up in various threads and I will address them all here. (all these points added to the first post)

Guests
The privacy setting for 'guests' have been modified, so that guests can only view parts of forum without signing up. To be able to see the entire forum, they must sign up and complete registration with verified email addresses before it all becomes clear.

Private Messages
PM box limits have been adjusted. Regular members now have a 50 PM limit (inbox and sent combined), while donating members have a 300 PM box limit. This was done in an effort to cut back on 'dead space' that will sit on the forum, when someone creates a username for the sake of sending PMs, fills the box and never returns. We have a lot of 'dead accounts' that are taking up storage space with their maxed out PM boxes.

** IMPORTANT NOTE: When a PM is sent to a user with a full PM box, a message will pop up letting you know that the user's PM box if full. No further action is required on your end. The user will receive an email notification that their PM box is full and will also know the username of the person that was trying to send them a message. This feature eliminates the need to create a new thread in the limbo lounge, asking someone to 'empty their PM box'. Please be aware of this change.

A write up on how to download your messages to your computer has been written by Mike_Moss here (http://www.toprotege.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41538). It is safe practice to download and keep your important messages as once you delete them from your inbox on the forum, there is no way to get them back. All the officers do this and it should be common practice by all members that have important information regarding group buys and so on.

Regular user can upgrade to Donating Member status by contacting one of the officers or by attending one of the various mini-meets and getting your membership card there.

New Color Scheme [discussion] (http://www.toprotege.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41609)
There is now a new forum color choice. When the switch was made, the default will be the new (custom-made) color scheme that was made by our own Mike_Moss and Perma team. You can still select the old, plain-jane color scheme by selecting it at the bottom left of your forum window. New colors may be added in the future, but there are no plans for anything else for the time being.

TOProtege.com Main Portal [discussion] (http://www.toprotege.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41609)
TOP launches a main page portal. As most may have already noticed, the main page now takes you directly to a v-bulletin portal that has been in the works for a while and is a great resource for finding references quickly and easily. It houses the calendars, birthdays, FAQs, top-rated how-tos, latest news and a summary of who's online.

Once you get through the portal and are on the forums, if you wish you can return to the portal easily by clicking on the TOProtege.com logo at the top right of all your forum browser windows.

Question about the PM issue. When the user with a full box gets the email saying they should clear it up, will that email also include the PM which was attempted to be delivered, or do we have to save that PM until said person clears their box?

The PM will not be sent in the e-mail, so it will need to be sent at a later date. However, as noted above, the recipient will be notified of the sender's username.

The guest thing definitly sucks when viewing the site from a cell phone. :(

Why do donating members have a 200 limit when we use to have a 300 limit? Is that a typo? I still appear to have a 300 PM limit.
