Hey,
After washing and trying my best to detail my car for 2 hours, I can say that the P5 is NOT easy to do.
So many tight spaces, and lot's of hidden holes and crevices.
I realized that I haven't rustproofed it yet!
Any recommendations for rustproofing? I heard Krown Rust is one of the best, and Ziebart isn't bad either.
I'm not really interested in the "Walmart Special".
Anyone interested in a group buy?

Krown is the best, based on a lot of years of experience with various rustproofing treatments. Rust Check is OK too, but Krown is much more detail-oriented and they do a neater job for the same price. The most important thing is to get an annual anti-rust treatment where the product creeps into all the seams and electrical connections to displace moisture, and forget about the one-time treatments that solidify and block drain holes. With annual rustproofing having been done on all the cars I have owned for the last 20 years, I am always amazed at how good my cars look after 10 or 12 years compared to other cars of the same year, make and model. Also, a car given an annual anti-rust spray is easier to work on a few years down the road, because all the fittings, nuts & bolts etc. underneath have not all rusted up.

Hey!
Don't knock the WalMart Protect Oil basic for $39.97 and then the $79.97. It is better than nothing at all. And you know at Walmart, if your not pleased with your purchase you can take it back. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

I just got my rustproofing done today.
$110+taxes from Krown Rust. Done in about 30 min. but it may take one hour. Only needs to be done once a year.
The Krown Rust Markham I went to is offering new customers $10 off their first application. And for me referring, I get $10 off my next treatment.
PM me if you're going and I'll give you the info. I don't want to post my licence plate number here.

thx for the quick reply!
i'm leasing the car rite now and the sales person didn't suggest me to do the rust proof on a lease vehicle. but the car is so great, i fell in love with it and i think i'm gonna buy it back, so i'm thinking of doing rust proof now. but the question is, is it too late to do it now??
if not, i think i'll probably go to the one that u guys mentioned above!!
thx again!!!

Don't rust proof your car!!
Its a total waste of money.. HTe best thing to do is to keep your car clean (do car washes etc)..
I used to get all my car rustproofed, including my 96 protege and 2k2 maxima.. But this time round on my 2k3 maxima, i didn't get it rustproofed at all because, i noticed that really the metals used on cars today are alot better than it ever has been..
Plus rustproofing reeks havoc everywhere around your car.. Clogs up drain holes (depnding on the type of rust proofing).. And man it makes yoru ENGINE dirty and collects a bunch of $hit all over..
FOrget about rust proofing, just take car of your car, wash it regularly, including the undercarriage..

www.krown.ca will have the info you asked for.
We have a '94 Civic that was rustproofed ONCE at Walmart. With the exception of the rear end [got slammed by a Cadillac], there are parts of the car that have underlying rust.
And yes we did try to keep it super clean with hand washes [including in the winter].
The Krown stuff doesn't clog drain holes b/c they have to drill holes in order to spray the stuff on.
Remember that rustproofing only protects against underlying rust, not surface rust [i.e. from scratched paint].

In case you didn,t know, that generation of civic was totally prone to premature rusting especially in the rear quarterpanels because of a design flaw.
Rust protection does not help exterior rusting (outside in).. and Most new cars have extended rust profration warranty..
Anyhow, to each their own. I refuse to use rustprotection ever again because it screws up the cleanliness of the engine bay and inner jams and door panels (especially on my aftermarket sepaekrs)..

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I will never rustproof my car - it does more harm than it does good. Rust proofing is just a product the dealership uses to suck more of your cash and can even potentially prematurely cause rust.
It gunks your water evacuation holes and the spray if not sprayed evenly in the doors can leave huge unprotected spots that in turn pool water when it rains.
Nothing will keep you car rust free like cleaning it often, undercarriage, wheel wells, etc.
Oh and if your 94 civic is rusting in the wheel wells you should've removed the black splash guards cause the collect water and salt. Plus it looks better without the splash guards.
