Okay, call me a slacker...

I checked the tire pressure of my spare tire for the first time in 4 years!! (That's when I bought my car).

It was down to 41 PSI when in fact it should have been at 60 PSI. Good thing I didn't get a flat tire, because I would have been screwed!!

So people check your spare tire pressure, NOW!!!! (and tell me how low it was)

Otter,

Call me 'slow', but it took me a moment to figure that out! Ah, funny!

Some of us have spare tires in the front of our tummys. But yeah Maverick, I'll go check mine today when I tune my amp and lift up the GCPT sound box.

Out of curiosity, what's the longest that you can drive with a spare?

Anyone whose car is less than 3 years old shouldn't need a spare tire. Any flats are looked after by the Mazda service hotline. That's part of the new car smell. And for those who bought extended warranties, they reap this benefit longer.
I don't plan to put mine on the ground, but plans often get changed...

not really sure, but i'm sure they called it a spare tire for a reason and that reason is probably not "replacement tire".......hehehehe.........i'm guessing it usually takes a week at most to get tires fixed.......so given that.....i'd say maybe a few weeks of constant driving...but i've seen ppl drive on them for months......

Murphy's Law!!!

Well as my original post was to remind everyone to check their spare tire pressures, I failed to check one thing myself- until it was too late.

Guess what??? I got a flat tire on my way to work today and found out something the hard way..... I didn't have a bloody tire iron to remove lugnuts!! Holy F@#K...... I am totally pissed!

For my luck a guy (in a Mazda 323) had a tire iron which he let me borrow. Whew!!

Anyhow, just a reminder to everyone.... check your spare tire pressure AND make sure all other components are there to change the tire.

BTW, Does anyone have a spare tire iron????

i think you can buy a 21mm socket (think that's the right size) and keep a ratchet in your car w/ the socket if you can't find your tire iron.....
