Who: All members of TOP including *NEW* members
What: Formula Kartways "Go-Kart Meet"
When: Wednesday, April 30, 2008.
Where: 79 Bramsteele Road, Brampton Ontario (410 and Steeles is the major intersection to it) http://www.formulakartways.com/ for more info and maps
Time: 7:30pm ... Sharp (our track time should start around 8pm but to get everything setup bout 30min)!
Why: Who doesnt wanna Go-Kart?

Hey All,

Weather is nice, and to get out some of the winter jitters I saw we get a Go-Kart meeting going! Get out have fun at a track and enjoy a night of screeching tires, with some bumping and grindin!

I am hoping Junior will make this into an OFFICIAL TOProtege Event, and for everyone to comeout and enjoy (friends, family, wives, girlfriends, bestfriends are ALL welcome). Even if you want to come and just
spend some time chatting it up and taking some pics in the big parking lot they have, come on down! I have got a bit of a deal on the pricing and some exlusion to the membership rules.

We are slotted for the ARRIVE AND DRIVE and pricing is as follows:

25 laps for $27.50 (normally its 20 laps for $27.50)
membership is $10.00 HOWEVER for those that have a membership great, for those that are not sure if they want a membership I got a deal where we can get a day pass for $2.50 instead saving the few members
$7.50.

So in total were looking at $30.00 for 25 laps including daypass fees, about a 15 buck discount.

*** It is imperative that people sign up so I can have the proper reservation for spots and make sure they have enough helmets and what not. We definately dont need 15 bailers. Please do commit if you do
decide to come! Also ***

I'll be finalizing the numbers on April 28th so please signup by then, I would definately be better if you signed up now that way I can maybe even negotiate a better price :D

If you guys have your own helmets, gloves your more then welcome to bring them along and again there are some rules of the track that I will be posting as soon as i get the email for the coordinator.

How is the track for photo spots? good spots for photos? If theres one particular corner thats pro for pics, I can even setup some lighting around that corner only and star snapping pics there :p :D

Let me know about the pics, if photo spots are no good, then i'll consider going on track and street race all of you :D

Might be worth it to call ahead a few days before the event to see if they will allow you on the track and see if you can have a walk around first to check out spots for photo ops.

I'd be down, just have to make sure nothing else is going on, moving in to my new place. Plus, I have to look for my membership card which is now packed up.

The track isn't bad in IMO, I'm a little crazy through the haripin turn, so fun. I find the carts aren't that fast tho, but still a good time.

As far as i know, there will not be a max, however it just means that there will be 'groups' on the track. like 12 people at a time or whatever their limit is...

AFAIK the kart are all gas powered, the only sensor is for timing (lap times) and thats about it. There arent any caution sensors, cept of the dude that runs with the yellow flag.

BTW - we offer more organized race packages too where you run Practice/ Qualifying and then have a couple races with trophies etc... wicked times guy. You should see my elbow though. I smacked it off the edge of the car a couple times, and ***k. On the way home I figured it was just a funny bone kind of thing, I wake up, dark purple bruise the size of a tennis ball. lol.

Great times, definitly a good experience for my first time go karting, next time I'll try and get top 5 :p. Good work Scream. oh and fun times at Casey's after for those who came.

I rolled in late last night and the place was closing. I pulled up after 10 pm and there was only two hardcore TOPrs left.

Either way, glad to hear that it was a great event and good to see much enthusiasm for setting up something similar, come fall.
