What do you guys/gals think of UNDERBODY NEONS?
You like em? hate em? Throw rocks at cars who have them? or stare at them and reminisce of the 70s and 80s?
I was actually thinking about getting a set... which should i go for? Streeglow? Liteglow? or Toucan?
Suggestions are welcome!

Personally, I think they look good Mike...
You just have to make sure you have the right color though.
Tax went with Red because that's his theme for the car.
I'd look into getting them, but I don't know what color to get.
Would white look good? or wouldn't it stand out enough?

I think they look sweet, but i agree that colour is very important. If you get the wrong colour it can look pretty bad. I once saw a late 90s integra, it was white with blue underbody neons and it looked amazing.

I honestly don't know ... i've never seen white neons before.
Raymond told me he got some green ones.... since he has a black car, he said it'll make him look F&F style... http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I think i would go for blue, cuz silver and blue give that modern touch...

So what color will look good with a blue P5. Will blue be to much? Whats the dif betwen Streeglow, Liteglow and Toucan?
Fat Mike what color did you get?

I have heard that streetglow is the best.
I am also looking into getting neons but I drive a red 2001 sedan and the color is more dark red so I am wondering if red would look decent.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

remember some colours are illegal or so I hear. Just be sure to turn them off if you see a cruiser http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Fat Mike how much did you pay for the set? Mark (cruisinblackp5) how hard were they to install?
Simple solution for neons...on when youre parked or cruising in the parking lot...off when u hit the road

Kinda a bitch to install, took like three hours but not too continuous. The hardset part it actually putting the bulbs under the car, if you have a access to a lift you could save a lot of time, or jack stands would be good.

DarkHero,
All neons are illegal ... not just "some colours".
But if you run them while you drive, just hope that cops aren't nearby ... http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Screw WESTSIDE vs EASTSIDE! IT'S DARKHERO vs CHOPSTICKHERO!!! lol http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Hey i didn't know that. Weren't you guys discussing this a few weeks ago saying some lights were legal?

I think that this is one of those grey areas in the LAW, just like many other things. "could be legal if you can't see the bulb" "could be legal as long as they are a certain colour" I think the bottome line is when you see a cruiser, you better hope that he doesn't give you a ticket, cause if it's not for the lights, regardless he will find something! For us northerners its the optional gun rack that always gets me the ticket!

I talked to Raymond... he said he paid $160 for Toucan neons and paid Steve the mechanic $70 for install.
yeah... Ed, i agree with you. if a cop doesn't like your car, he/she will can give you a ticket for anything.

Pretty much agree with everyone...the one thing I do want to mention...surprised nobody did mention it cause I have seen some BAD installs (but they were up North...damnned honky-tonks couldn't put the Jack Daniels down long enough to do it right!http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Anywho, just make sure when you install them you CAN'T see TOO MUCH of the actual bulb! They look cool if you can't see the bulb, but if you can see the bulb at a reasonable angle they look sick! I think tax did a good job, from the pics I have seen...it simply looks like his car is floating...I think they are cool!
And Ross...I am going to get Blue when I get them...I think there the key isn't too much blue....as it is TOO MANY SHADES OF BLUE...if your side markers match your Nozzles and Chassis lighting...I think it will look cool?
Just my opinion!
Hopefully this post made a little sense?

We'll see how many people are interested as time goes on and we'll try and setup some kind of group deal as usual!

I might get laughed at if I autocross with neons on.
Seriously though, I don't care for them. Any weight is too much weight. Everyone complains about the lack of go and them you want to make your car heavier. I also don't need any help getting noticed by the cops.

oh, really, c'm on... how heavy are 4 tubes? they're not even half the weigth of a subwoofer... they're maybe the weigth of the amp or so...
you do have a point though in getting noticed by the cops http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif i'll give you that1...
