The guy that did the install of my sub/amp is going to start carrying shuriken batteries and he will be able to get my a great deal on one.

Any thoughts on these batteries? I tried a Google search and nothing...

Not tooo sure what the prices are going to be yet as he still needs to get them in but I thought I would get your guys/girls input.

(Sorry if this is in the wrong place)

Haven't heard of them myself Chris. If your in a pinch go to costco and pickup a Kirkland for $60-70. Great deal on a great product that many here have switched too.

But this battery could be as much as 50% cheaper... So I could buy two before I would need to spend the $200 for a yellow top.

I am not bashing what you said I am just trying to get opinions. Do you think it would be worth that much more?

50% cheaper of $200?
a costco battery is <$70 and comes with a 3 year free replacement warranty
wont find a place that beats that!

costco FTW

Will that have the type of power as these other batteries would though?

Adam (the person who owns the shop) was telling me that by getting a better battery, one that is made for performance, the lights in my car MAY stop flickering with the bass.

lights will only stop flickering if you have a tiny system and the original battery is about to die.

I sure don't have a big system, its only running around 400 watts rms.

I also do think my battery is coming close to the end of its life. Some mornings it feels like I will have to look up to the sky before it will start haha

Edit: Mind you it is cold those mornings...

I got a yellow top, and my lights no longer dim. and I'm not king of systems but I'm running 2 subs on a pioneer monoblock, 4-chan Alpine amp on 2 JL-XRs and 2 Pioneer 6x9s.

No idea if this battery would be beneficial at all?

400 wrms is still quite a bit, depending on what class of amp it is, it could draw twice the amount of power to produce 400wrms.
any new battery will be better than the stocker at the end of it's life. Question is: Do you want a new battery to start your car or do you want to eliminate dimming of your lights.

Answer to the first is to get one from costco.

answer to the second is how deep is your wallet?

even the yellow top will give you dimming lights.

I've got a yellow top and a regular "eliminator" (CT brand) battery, both isolated from each other, and i can still make the lights dim.

the only time that lights dim is when the car is running.

Alternator produces 14volts. so when the bass hits the yellow top draws more power from the alt that the eliminator battery and the result is the power goes from 14 to 12, and the lights dim. Not a bad low voltage, but still diming lights.

and lastly, if it's dimming lights that give you concern, then invest in LEDs. they minimize dimming as they barely use any power. and HIDs in your headlights.

Excellent point. Ever since I've made the switch to HIDs I no longer experience dimming of the headlights. I'm not sure a better battery would help in this regard, only if you need the extra amps to start your car every morning, but if thats the case and the stock battery is still decent, hold out on one until this Fall. Then when you need it pickup a new one. Also try and get more specs for the size of battery of these Shuriken's for comparison sake and what kind of warranty comes with them.

I got the Costco battery last year. I have two amps hooked up and my stock battery was on the way out. ***king awesome deal, why spend $200 on a battery?
