I will be writing a letter to Mazda Canada, and will cc it to the owner of markham mazda and the toronto star.
I have had some MAJOR problems with them which they cannot seem to resolve and don't care to resolve. I know others have had similiar problems so I would like to hear your stories.
Please post.

Is Markham Mazda part of the Dilawri Automotive Group? They own Ontario Mazda and my experience there was absolutely horrific when I bought my P5. One of, if not the, worst experiences in my life. Had to go through every level from Mazda Canada (who can't do squat about dealers except file the complaint in some dusty drawer never to be seen again), Dilawri customer service, regional managers, and every other manager along the way and in the end they still wouldn't honour the deal their salesman had made. He was a lying little RAT! How the service side of things develops I'll have to see... http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

1) When i had my 626 it needed a new part...can't remember the name now....well it cost 400$ and i went and took it to a private mehanic and got it put in for 120$ then two days later the check engine light was on again...took it back to mazda and they discovered that they sold me a defective part...well i tryed to make a deal..saying i kwo your guys didnt put it in..but can you give me a discount on putting it back into the car since you've pretty much made me loose 120$...they simply said NO we'll call you when the part arrives...They never Ever called
2) The parts department NEVER NEVER call when a parts in..iv'e gotten alot of stuff from them before i found avante..and every time the part guy says...OH I CALL..then he looks at his computer and says to ME: "Or lucky i didn't right down what time i called here...so you win this one" WTF?
3) When i first went into buy a P5 we went to Markham Mazda....and honestly i dont' think i've ever ever had worse service then we did...the sales guy look miserable..no smile..no handshake...Just Hear is the Price..what colour do you want? WTF? ...When my dad and i walk out of there the frist thing we said was...(and we said it at the same time) "I don't want to buy a car from here"

The Johnny Cochrane, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Rev. Al Shapton, Jesse Jackson and Michael Giancanna in me; wants to so badly make a TPC convoy and drive there one Saturday and annoy them with picket signs and sandwhich board displays of our disgust. We need to get that 'POWER TO THE PEOPLE' feeling going again in this day and age.
My fellow Jewish sistah, we can call up Silverman or Silvestien and then since we got ties with Moses Znamier at City T.V. we got leverage already. This will be a blitz like the 6 Day War but it'll be a 6 hour war one nice Saturday as we will do a Pearl Habour attack on this bastard establishment. Those b-b-b-b-bastards. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif

Dilwari group of companies......Ontario, Erin Mills, and Morningside Mazda......I've had no problems with Ontario Mazda...I even went back to them to have my car re-buffed after a week of driving it and it was all covered.....I've found them curtious so far.

My Markham Mazda Experience (http://msg.toprotege.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=5;t=4034)
Stupid bastards tried to rip me off for 2 new tires and didn't say a thing about road hazard rebate on tires. They would have charges me a premium, then kept my tires and gotten the money back for themselves.

I want Mazda Canada to be aware of the lack of service people are getting at Markham Mazda. I also want Maz. Can. to know its not an isolated incident. Mazda Canada will not allow Markham mazda to continue being run the way it is being run with so many complaints they will be forced to step in. (I HOPE)
And of course if there are complaints with the sales guys, they won't get any raises/promotions. I was told that if I told Mazda Can. I was happy with my sales guy, he would get a bonus. (sales guy told me that, and kept pushing me to write to them...ooooh...I will write Jason Chan...don't you worry).

Erin Mills Mazda owns Ontario Mazda, as well as Morningside Mazda in Scarborough. I don't know that Markham Mazda is owned by them though..

Sounds good. I was just wondering,..that's all.
But if it'll possibly help them to get their shit in gear,...I'm all for it. The way I see it is,...we've already dropped a hefty amount of cash on cars from them. The servicing shouldn't be another way to milk us for every last cent. It should be SERVICE,...as the name says. Obviously everyone needs to make money,.....but they have to draw the line somewhere,...and Markham Mazda is just out and out brutal.

People seem to jumping on the bandwagon in this thread and the other one about Markham Mazda, wih lame comnments like "Markham Mazda sucks" but few facts to back it up. I bought a P5 there a year ago. It was certainly not a perfect car buying experience, but in the end I got the car/options/colour I wanted, at the right price, delivered when promised, in spotless condition. As far as service, I went back only once for my free oil/filter. Too much of a ghetto service department for my liking (I'm used to Acura dealers) and was also scared away by the bad rep they have here. P5girl, you didn't post details of your issue with them (that I could find). If you do, maybe people can give you some advice on the best way to handle. It's usually more effective to hit them with the facts of YOUR issue than to try to dig up unrelated stuff based on other people's experiences with a dealer, company, etc.
My thoughts anyways.

Hmmm...where should I start....
1- Car was a day late. (OK IT HAPPENDS)
2- got the call to go pick it up for 5:00, I showed up at 5:30, car showed up at 7-7:30
3- Paid for a car alarm (500$http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif, car came with a very cheap alarm sysytem. No sensor, doesn't unlock when standing right next to it and wires hanging out of the steering column.
4- Car dropped off but they forgot to drop off the keychains for the alarm. Because of this I was promised by TINT KING AND THE OWNER of Markham Mazda tints.
5- Went back to pick up keychains, salesman said he didn't get anything for tints, will call me.
6- Went back 2 months later because alarm didn't work AT ALL, spoke with salesman re: alarm and tints again. TINTS will cost me 250$ (what a joke...)
7- Alarm still doesnt work, brought car in was told they will not replace the alarm, they will not do anything for me in regards to tints, they will not do anything period.
8- Was told to speak with sales manager. Transfered to sales manager, when i asked about the tints, he said ITS NOT HIS PROBLEM and hung up the phone with me.

Hmmm, if I were to drop $500 on an alarm, I'd want to know up front exactly what I was buying. But this alarm system surely came with a warranty. What does the warranty say about where to get warranty repairs? If the dealer is supposed to handle the warranty and they are refusing to do so, this sounds (assuming there is not more to this) like you have a simple case to take to Mazda Canada (but they may not intervene) or small claims court. What reason are they giving for not honoring the warranty? If they have no good reason, I would suggest telling their sales and service managers verbally and in writing that you are getting your facts together for Small Claims Court, and see if you get their attention then.
About the tint, are they saying the discussion you had with them (and Tint King) never happened? That one will be a little tougher as you have nothng in writing and it's a 'he said' and 'she said' situation unless you have witnesses about what was promised.
Might as well forget items 1 and 2 in your post as they there is nothing that anyone can/will do for you if you complain at this late stage (and delays like this are not unusual , caused by their incompetenence but not deliberate deception).

My dissapointment with Markham Mazda is not that the alarm came the way it did, or that my car was late. (these things happen) Its the lack of service they offered AFTER these things occured. A sales manager should not hang up on anyone for any reason.

Sorry to hear what has happend to you.
They should really fix you alarm system.. Just wondering why they didn't just give you a factory one...
hm... but what makes me wonder is why they offer free tint because they forgot to drop off the keychains for the alarm. It doesn't sound right that a dealership would offer free tint which would cost them $150 (or more) over keychains...
But with that said.... Here are some of the places that you might want to call before talking to them again.. cus i am sure ur not getting any where with them...
1) If you write a letter to Mazda Canada i am sure they might do something for you
Just wondering have you tried calling them at customer relations...?
2) Try calling OMVIC (Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council)and see if they can help you
3) If that doesn't work try better businese bureau
4) Then if all else fails go to small claims court...
P.S i read something in a post about Mazda Canada will pay sales ppl money if they get a letter saying they were good in the selling process..... Which is totally not true.

I didn't want to get into long boring details about the story behind the tints. I was offered a "deal" on the tints by Tint King because they forgot the keychains. Then I was told by the owner of markham mazda not to worry he would take care of the tints because i had to wait so long for the car.
As for the alarm, I assumed I was getting a factory alarm since thats what I had installed on the silver p5. Instead they gave me a dollar store led blinking light and refuse to install something else.
Regarding the "bonus"...its not from mazda canada, the sales guy said his boss gives him a raise for a good survey relating to the sale. =)

I'm getting a wee bit concerned now.
My ride was ordered in from Ottawa and should be here Tuesday. [Jason from Markham Mazda].
I thought he was a rookie or something b/c:
- he didn't really seem to know what he was doing. After I called a few dealers to check on inventory, I had to ask him to check other dealers to get my color choice.
- well he just looks so young.
I hope nothing goes wrong with it.

Hes been there for at least 2.5 years. I thought he was new too....always having to go check with the sales manager.... I think that is just his sales tactic.
As long as you weren't promised any extras or purchased any extras on the car...I wouldn't worry.

I think this is a common sales tactic for everyone.
All I had "extra" thrown in were the wheel locks, and yes I made sure it was written down on the sales contract with no charge.
