Dear fellow TOProtege members,

I am please to announce the kick-off of our 2008 membership donation drive!


2008 Toronto Protege Club Membership Cards

Starting today you can now make a donation to the Toronto Protege Club for 2008. What does this mean? ... Well, if you donated in 2007, we thank your generous donations and give you an early opportunity to renew for another year, before the 31st of December, 2007.

All 2007 Donating memberships will expire on that date and if you'd like to contribute to the club/forum for 2008, now's the time to do so.

In about a week's time, we will be purging the 2007 donating members group and (if you've not had a chance to renew by the time we do the purge) you'll notice your user group change back to "members", until you've had a chance to make a meet an officer and make your donation. At that time you'll see a custom "2008 Donating Member" message show up under your username.

NOTE: Membership donation is not mandatory to be a part of this club, but we do encourage everyone that's ever used the forum as a means of information, or benefited from a group buy or taken part in an event to give back to your club by making a donation.

As always, minimum donation is set to $10 for a 1-year period, and you may donate as much as you wish. There is no multi-year donation available.

Officers have membership cards available at all the upcoming meets and can get you signed up if you wish to make a donation.

Benefits of becoming a donating member are:

- Increased Private Message quota on the forum (regular members have 100 messages max, and donating members have 300 messages max)

- Discounts and promotional rates at various Authorized vendors. The discount will vary from vendor to vendor and your 2008 Membership Card must be presented at the time of purchase to receive any type of club discount.

- **Special Promotional price to buy a 2008 calendar (see below)

- A supply of Official Toronto Protege club tag cards (for tagging those other pros you see out there and making them aware of this club)

- Eligible to take part in our bigger events throughout the year, where we have special donated prizes and giveaways (Familia Picnic and Holiday Dinner) as well as various other events... and much more.

If you have a 2007 Donation Card, please present it at the time of renewal to help our officers determine your membership number from last year, to be sure you don't get a duplicate number. We have a master list on file, but it may take longer if we have to search for your number at the time of renewal.

Out of towners: We also have a paypal account setup for membership donations, but you will have to contact our membership officer, Romeo_mp5 (Ed) to get setup. (additional fees to cover postage and fees will apply)

We encourage those that live in the city to come out to a meet and pick up
you membership cards in person. It's a great way to come out and put some faces to the names.

2008 Toronto Protege Club Calendars

Hot off the press, we also have 2008 official Toronto Protege Club calendars available for purchase for all of our officers. Quantities are limited and we will have to go with a first come, first served plan for this year.

Special thanks to our Sponsors which made generous donations to the club to help offset the cost of producing these beautiful calendars and therefore have made it possible for us to sell the 2008 Calendar for $5 to donating members!

As part of our kick-off for membership drive 2008, if you present your TOP 2008 membership card when buying your 2008 Calendar, it's only going to cost you $5.00.

*Note: Your first Calendar is $5.00, and any additional calendars will be $10.00 each. Non-Donating members can buy the calendar for $10.00 each.

Again, the quantities are limited so we encourage you to come out to meet and pick up your very own copy soon.

So to recap .... Membership Cards for 2008 are available now and as an added bonus you can get both Membership card and Calendars at the same time, but only pay $5 for your calendar, when you present your 2008 membership card.

All officers will have a stack of Calendars available for distribution and they will all have 2008 membership cards ready as well.

The ONLY people that will be accepted to paypal and get stuff sent via MAIL, will the be the guys that live OUTside of the city (like Windor, Sarnia, US, Barrie ...)

We will NOT be mailing to those that live in pickering or brampton, etc..

I've already gotten a couple of PMs, and I'm postin git up in here so we are all aware.

If you live close enough to the city to actually pick up your calendar IN PERSON, we're not going to go thru the extra hassles of mailing out your membership card and calendar.

It is encouraged that you attend a meet to pick up your stuff.

**Important NOTE: You CANNOT send you money via paypal to 'secure' your calendar and then pick it up at a meet. Again, that makes for huge headaches for management and will confuse everyone involved.

When you come out in person, you pay (on the spot) and collect your calendar at that moment.

We are NOT holding calendars for anyone. First come, first served.

Awesome.

Hopefully at least one officer will stay out at this weeks westside meet past 10pm so i can get hooked up. Stupid work :mad:

Your closest meet would probably be Central (Eglinton + Brentcliff)

With the car being away for the winter and getting my thursday shift switch to the late shift I really don't know how many meets I'll be able to make over the winter but I definitely want to donate!

I'm sure they should be able to accommodate you. If you switched shifts does that mean you won't be at the dealer this coming thursday at 1pm when I have my appointment?

Having not been able to find a 2007 calender, I have nothing to compare the 2008 calender with, but I must say, The way you put 4 pics on a page, instead of just one big picture was genius! I love seeing all the pro's out. It would have been disappointing to have seen just 1 car a month, becasue there would be soooooo many people in the club that would have been left out.

Big ups to everyone who helped in putting this thing together!

And long live Febuary!!!!:D

Quick update for anyone wondering why their user status still says 2007.

We are in the midst of purging and refreshing the database, fear not, all officers have records of your 2008 donations that have been made and we look to have the new user group saying "2008 Donating Member" up and running by this weekend!

Thanks again, for all your support and generous donations, and if you haven't had a chance to donate or pick up your calendar now's the time to do it!

^ that is correct the updates are done in batches as the collecting officers report payments, please be patient all status will be updated and all 2008 donating members will show this status.

Any way I can still donate $10 or $15 to get a membership card? I'm fine with next weekend somewhere in Pickering or Ajax (preferably) if anyone's in the area looking to meet up. I'm booked throughout the weekdays (exams).

I usually go there on a weekly basis, so that location is fine for me.

Saturday @ 4:30 sounds good? I'll be donating $15. $15 as a donating member, and $5 for a calender if available. Otherwise, if no calenders are available, I'll donate $20.

Its easier for me to spot your car, but mine is basically stock except for CT wheels. If we can't find one another at the parking lot (weird), you can call or text me @ 905-550-3033.

Familia picnic was in September 2007.

The 2008 Donations started at the Christmas dinner December 2007.

When you made a donation it was for the remainder of 2007. If you'de like to make a donation for 2008, you can contact any of the officers.

The officer team is working extra extra hard in getting the 2009 calendar done asap. We really appreciate the enthusiasm and dedication from our members in wanting to donate for 2009 already. As Cocco has mentioned above, the membership cards are available so you can pick one up anytime from anyone on our officer team, to avoid interruptions in receiving wonderful discounts from our sponsors.

If possible, it will be easier to purchase the membership card at the same time as our calendar drive, however, if you need the card sooner, send me a pm, and we can work something out.

If you pay for the membership card first, we will still honour you the membership card/calendar combo discount when you purchase the calendar later on.
