Dear fellow TOProtege members,
I am please to announce the kick-off of our 2008 membership donation drive!
2008 Toronto Protege Club Membership Cards
Starting today you can now make a donation to the Toronto Protege Club for 2008. What does this mean? ... Well, if you donated in 2007, we thank your generous donations and give you an early opportunity to renew for another year, before the 31st of December, 2007.
All 2007 Donating memberships will expire on that date and if you'd like to contribute to the club/forum for 2008, now's the time to do so.
In about a week's time, we will be purging the 2007 donating members group and (if you've not had a chance to renew by the time we do the purge) you'll notice your user group change back to "members", until you've had a chance to make a meet an officer and make your donation. At that time you'll see a custom "2008 Donating Member" message show up under your username.
NOTE: Membership donation is not mandatory to be a part of this club, but we do encourage everyone that's ever used the forum as a means of information, or benefited from a group buy or taken part in an event to give back to your club by making a donation.
As always, minimum donation is set to $10 for a 1-year period, and you may donate as much as you wish. There is no multi-year donation available.
Officers have membership cards available at all the upcoming meets and can get you signed up if you wish to make a donation.
Benefits of becoming a donating member are:
- Increased Private Message quota on the forum (regular members have 100 messages max, and donating members have 300 messages max)
- Discounts and promotional rates at various Authorized vendors. The discount will vary from vendor to vendor and your 2008 Membership Card must be presented at the time of purchase to receive any type of club discount.
- **Special Promotional price to buy a 2008 calendar (see below)
- A supply of Official Toronto Protege club tag cards (for tagging those other pros you see out there and making them aware of this club)
- Eligible to take part in our bigger events throughout the year, where we have special donated prizes and giveaways (Familia Picnic and Holiday Dinner) as well as various other events... and much more.
If you have a 2007 Donation Card, please present it at the time of renewal to help our officers determine your membership number from last year, to be sure you don't get a duplicate number. We have a master list on file, but it may take longer if we have to search for your number at the time of renewal.
Out of towners: We also have a paypal account setup for membership donations, but you will have to contact our membership officer, Romeo_mp5 (Ed) to get setup. (additional fees to cover postage and fees will apply)
We encourage those that live in the city to come out to a meet and pick up
you membership cards in person. It's a great way to come out and put some faces to the names.

Hot off the press, we also have 2008 official Toronto Protege Club calendars available for purchase for all of our officers. Quantities are limited and we will have to go with a first come, first served plan for this year.
Special thanks to our Sponsors which made generous donations to the club to help offset the cost of producing these beautiful calendars and therefore have made it possible for us to sell the 2008 Calendar for $5 to donating members!
As part of our kick-off for membership drive 2008, if you present your TOP 2008 membership card when buying your 2008 Calendar, it's only going to cost you $5.00.
*Note: Your first Calendar is $5.00, and any additional calendars will be $10.00 each. Non-Donating members can buy the calendar for $10.00 each.
Again, the quantities are limited so we encourage you to come out to meet and pick up your very own copy soon.
So to recap .... Membership Cards for 2008 are available now and as an added bonus you can get both Membership card and Calendars at the same time, but only pay $5 for your calendar, when you present your 2008 membership card.
All officers will have a stack of Calendars available for distribution and they will all have 2008 membership cards ready as well.

The ONLY people that will be accepted to paypal and get stuff sent via MAIL, will the be the guys that live OUTside of the city (like Windor, Sarnia, US, Barrie ...)
We will NOT be mailing to those that live in pickering or brampton, etc..
I've already gotten a couple of PMs, and I'm postin git up in here so we are all aware.
If you live close enough to the city to actually pick up your calendar IN PERSON, we're not going to go thru the extra hassles of mailing out your membership card and calendar.
It is encouraged that you attend a meet to pick up your stuff.
**Important NOTE: You CANNOT send you money via paypal to 'secure' your calendar and then pick it up at a meet. Again, that makes for huge headaches for management and will confuse everyone involved.
When you come out in person, you pay (on the spot) and collect your calendar at that moment.
We are NOT holding calendars for anyone. First come, first served.
