has anyone thought about getting a trim kit instead of painting the plastic peices?

somehting like this?

i want to paint the interior, but there's too much hassle invovled (personally)... from choosing the perfect colour to the sanding, prime, dry, paint, dry, dry, paint, dry, dry, clear dry dry dry dry, you get the point. and with paint, you either give your ride an amazing interior or you completely mess the interior up.

i'm guessing with the interior trim stuff you just glue it on top of the original? or screw? snap? not sure, anyone know?
but the finish is gonna be better than most of the paint jobs...

kinda pricey, especially compared to paint, but its 'bout value rite. so ne1 knows how it works? thought about it? already got it?

there's other ones out there, one by www.nopionline.com and www.woodtrim.com... so i read from the other boards

Well I looked into these too for quite awhile. I was going to purchase one on them but the draw back is you cant really chooses a custom color most of the time its wood, fake carbon fiber, fake brushed aluminim or four basic colors (blue, yellow, red, orange) so if any of those work for you thne thats great it does save alot of time but is more on the expensive side. you can get a paint ready finish but once again that involves labour. I decided to paint cause I could choose my own color I was broke at the time and it makes a great project, I guess i figured that I mights as well just paint the pieces rather then buy an expensive kit that you would probably have to paint anyways.

They just stick on. If you don't get it right you are screwed. If you get a flat dash kit you will need a heat gun to install it to mold the pieces to the shape although they are pretty flexible. If you go and get a cheap kit it will look cheap.
