August 11, 2007 - Meeting of the Mazda 2007 Photos

For 2007, the Meeting of the Mazda committee decided to host this great event at the Toronto Motorsports park outside of Toronto. A large number of TOprotege members attended this event.

At 8:00am, the eastend guys met at Kennedy Commons for their pre-meet. the group chatted until 8:30am and started their way to the westside timmies. Crusing at 100km/h, just incase members gots lost. Arriving at westside timmies, a few more westsiders arrived and we went our way to the thirs pre-meet location in burlington. This was where we've met up with the majority of the group. In total, about 40 Proteges showed up for this event.

After all the pre-meets, the cruise hopped back onto the QEW where we were pretty much stuck in traffic for the next 45 minutes. Everybody was heading out of town. As we got off QEW and started heading south, the group got seperated and some members had gotten lost. Luckly, each group had a leader which still knew a little bit of where they were, contacting by cell phones, we've found each other again.

Due to the delay in traffic, the Toronto Protege Club arrived at Toronto Motorsports park at 11:30am. There were not any MOTM staff to greet us, except for the Toronto Motorsports Park staff at the entrance whom directed us to the approximate location. The final 20 or so members that arrived to the parking lot found themselves running out of space and had no where to park at all. Some members simply left their proteges on the grass by the pathways. Luckly, about 2 hours later, nearly all members of the Miata club had left which allowed many of the members to park their cars properly.

Overall, this event turned out well. Good turn out by all the Mazda Clubs. Although not as many attended as the previous years. There was a track where some members paid to go on for a few laps, while on the other side, there was the drag strip where also some members participated. Members walked around the area where CSCS held their own show and shine event and found many models walking around. There were hotdog stands and a food vendor there where members brought their lunch... and dinner.

Big ups to the members who participated from the US! D-rock, Kensai, and Tekkie! werd!

Congratulations to Junior for winning Best Protege, and MP5Ryda for winning the runner up prize for Best Protege. Last but not least! DJ_Tenshi_baby winning the Best Female Mazda!

Good turn out for the pro's. The event was the most interesting yet cuz of the venue and there was much more events to see. Tnx, Adam & Ryan for pushing me to enter this yr cuz w/out that I wouldn't b walkin 'round w/ a big ass smile on my face :). I'm still tryin to recover from the sun tho...damn i'm burnt! however, i'm glad my stomach has recovered from the expensive greasy food that they had there (tnx "mr. pharmacist"). The pics u guys took were great!. So Pppro- to the group shot in the bleachers. I had forgotten my camera that day along w/ other important stuff so it worked out perfect. It was def. nice seeing all of u guys/gals cuz I haven't been able to make it out to any meets this yr.

p.s. tnx to all who were also able to make it out to my housewarming party that nite too. Pro!

WOW oh WOW!

I will start off by thanking everyone that made it out for being there it was great to see soo many of you out representing the club and coming out to enjoy this event.

I have to admit that at first I was a bit skeptical about this event being held in conjunction with the CSCS event and hosting of this event at Cayuga BUT, I must admit that it was a great event overall at the atmosphere was incredible.

The amount of things to do was outstanding and the crowds were great. Hats off to the guys that did all the planning and helped to make this event a huge success. I had a blast.

Special thanks to Dan (LondonZoom) for providing ice cold drinks for all of the TOP clan and bringing them in a nice big plastic container and offering anyone access to grab, as they desired. That was totally awesome! Very cool.

Thank you to Spyder for providing the great coverage and always being ready with the camera to capture the moments.

All in all, it is a totally different experience for me with the club now-a-days as the group is constantly changing, but I'm glad to see the fresh new breed of enthusiasm and responsible people. The next generation of TOP is looking bright and even more excited about what lies ahead, than I've ever seen in the club so far. Good on you.

As for the winning of the trophy, I was extremely excited and didn't think I stood a chance, with guys like Ryan and Tekkie to compete with. I congratulate Ryan (MP5ryda) and Keika (Tenshi) on their wins as well, you guys really deserved it, and the cars are really looking cool. I hope you guys decide to stick around and keep that show spirit alive!

Again, It was a great show all around and I'm happy with the representation from everyone that was out. I hope to see even more out at this year's familia picnic (coming in September) ... YOU GUYS ROCK!

No I was the MSP beside him right beside the caution tape. I've never seen the 2003.5 with the 2003 rims on it before and the lug nuts were super nice too... not even too sure who it was but the car was sitting super low.... looked soooooooooooo good.

I've put all of my money under the hood of my car so far but Saturday lit a fire under me to get going with the exterior!

Yeah that other Ti was on k-sport coilovers from the orange glow I could see. not a very reasonable ride height though, messes up the handling pretty badly.

It's the first I had seen of a 2003.5 with 2003.0 wheels and I gotta say I really liked it! They stand out a lot more against the dark color.

It just seemed like such a nice clean looking ride. I noticed he even had the rear badges swapped to regular oem Protege badges and the colour difference looked really nice (from black to silver). It's amazing how much a car changes with subtle little mods.

Next time we'll have a chat! Unfortunately I was at MOTM just shortly,
I just came from Montreal that morning, checked in at niagara and headed straight to Cayuga. So at the time I got there it was already half past 4 or something. Even Azi was gone :(

Had a short talk with Kansei and D-rock240, walked around quickly and then left really soon again cause I had to be back at Niagara again.

Couldn't put any faces to names unfortunately but when I look at some of the pictures, I remember seeing some of you. Must say all the cars i've seen are really amazing. Nothing compared to what is on this side of the ocean.

Had a great time there even when it was short and hope to see you guys again soon, whenever that will be. :o
