I think there is a dye that you can use that works really well. Paint might not stick that well over the long run. I know atleast someone here has done this orr dyed part of their interior.

i agree with markeal knight ...

the paint may not be durable enough and will probably flake over time. if you want to see an example of this, go to Westowne mazda and check out the used yellow P5 in the lot. It has a painted steering wheel like you are describing, except that it's all flaked and looks like sh!t.

Foliatec makes a product called "Steering Wheel Steep". Check it out. It'll work on leather.

Any auto paint shop will sell a type of paint called MARHYDE...it is meant to be used on leathers and vynal

i wouldn't recommend painting the wheel, it'll be sticky during warm days and the steering wheel is "flexible", so the paint will crack over time. just get a momo wheel, makes your car look much better http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

got it about a year ago, still feels great and looks great
feels like driving in the arcade

Maybe now it is time for a showcase area on the boared. I like the way the handle has been painted.. never thought about doing that.

INTERIOR-ColorSpray or INTERIOR-INTENSIVE-ColorSpray ?
Also, how long have you had your steering painted ? No problem at all since then ? Scratch ?

Thanks

well i used the INTERIOR-ColorSpray cuz they didn't have the Steering Wheel paint at the time.

i've had my steering wheel painted for a lil over a year now, and yeah i've had some minor scratches due to the use of THE CLUB (the anti-theft device) but it was easily fixed!

i say its all in the way you prep what you're gonna paint!
