June 23rd, 2007 - 5th Annual TOprotege Rookies Meet

June 23rd started off as an beautiful cool day. A perfect day for an official TOprotege meet. Much plans went into this day and it was simply going to be perfect.

The meet started off at 5:00pm. Although I had created an Eastside pre-meet at Kennedy Commons while Westside had another pre-meet an hour eariler. Both sides arrived at the location right on time. The parking lot was empty, but not for long. It first started out with only 10 proteges, soon turned into nearly 30 proteges filling up the parking lot and almost running out of space to park. Being the TOprotege rookies meet, there were many new faces, many new rides. Stock rides on hub caps to done up rides with custom interiors and body kits. All kinds of new members showed up. From London to Pickering, members drove hours just to show up for this meet.

There were some talk about having an photoshoot at the Yorkdale location, but due to time limit and space, it was scraped. I spotted many new members checking out each other's body kits, audio systems, custom interior, etc. I am sure many ideas are still flowing through our heads. I never got a chance to talk to all the new members, I did try my best to say hi to everybody, "Hello, Hello!". I did manage to capture a photo of every new member that showed up to this event, and there were quite a few.

At nearly 8:00pm, Toronto Protege Club's president, Scooter(Darren) along with Junior(Frankie), offically welcomed all the new members to the Toronto Protege Club, also introducing the officers on site. Afterwards, driving instructions were given out and the group cruised to the Shoeless Joe location on Orfus. The short cruise went well without a hitch, although a few members were seperated due to traffic, everyone arrived and found a corner to park all together. Entering Shoeless Joes, we had our reservations for our own little section of the resturant thanks to Junior. As members got settled down to chat about their day, their mods, their rides, a few more members arrived for the dinner. Although we were seperated into 3 tables due to our large numbers, many members still got a chance to talk with each other. Ricecooker(Christian) decided to say hi to our table by blowing spitballs at our table filling out table with spitballs from across the room.

After the dinner, many members left for home, while others, with nothing better to do wanted to head back to Yorkdale for some photos. Although not pre-planned, the photo location were nice with the help of mall security directing us where it would be nice for photos. Pro, to Yorkdale Shopping Center Securities.

Over all, this 5th annual toprotege rookies meet was amazing. Much larger than last year's rookie meet. Just goes to show the Toronto Protege Club continues to grow in 2007. Welcome all new members, now that you got to meet some of the club members, no more excuses and time to hit up the meets!

I turned right and there was the highway right in front of me, left for 401 west and right to 401 east... lol where did you guys go?


we went left. to yorkdale road then to dufferin and up to the 401, rather than going east to allen and then going west. i tried to get everyone on the right way as i wasn't sure if i was going home or going out,,

i went out for a long drive with my lady friend, thus getting home at 5:30.

heat it up with a hairdryer or heatgun and you'll be abke to peel it off easily. If there's any glue crap left on the glass, use goo-gone or goof-off to remove it (either one can be bought at CDN Tire)
