View Full Version : Forced induction

I work at an automation company as a Machine Builder / System integrator apprentice of the second year. Basically a glorified tool and die maker. Right now me and several tool makers are machining up a revolutionary forced induction system. Its going to cost around $200 with materials and labour to produce, and its going to give the same kind of power that a turbo/inter-cooler kit would produce. Its capable and fully adjustable from 1-80PSI. (More then you could ever possibly need). It does not require a turbo exhaust manifold, turbo timer, or any of the nonsense. You can run your car in "Stock" mode with no boost for fuel economy and turn the induction system on whenever you want via a "Go fast" Button mounted on the steering wheel, similar to a nitrous kit. We have to finish machining the parts, mount them, and take it up to the dyno at forest and forest in kitchener to test it. We are going to start off at 6psi and go up to 8psi, seeing what results we can come up with. This description sounds a little foggy, but i I want to explain everything in great detail until the patent we applied for goes through. This is going to revolutionize the performance industry guys, and if successful you all get first crack on the production units before anyone else.

Peace

Good luck on your quest for a revolutionized FI system. If this is truely a miracle product I can understand why you don't post the exact details on how your system works - since you are seeking patents.

Like I said, "good luck" with your project!

Let me be the first skeptic. Don't mean to burst your bubble of enthusiasm, but why post this at all? All it's going to get are questions upon questions and eventually build up more skepticism. And you won't be able to disclose any information about it b/c of competitors that could be possibly creating the same thing. And how long does a patent take to be fully approved (disregarding use before patent approval)? Years? Are we all going to be around when it's finally done? Good luck with your FI project! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

I hope this isn't one of those 'blow-dryers' used as a alternative to a turbo system?

sounds very promising! best of luck in the accomplishment of such a grandeur vision! but as many have already said, it may be a little premature to wet the mouths of hungering car enthusiasts always looking to go faster and in the light of an application for a patent, this could very well be a product in waiting. in any event, it will definitely be interesting to see this concept productized. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

something is missing in this equation. Forced induction has two killers, power to run it and heat... not to mention lubrication. Good luck on this adventure... but I'd try it on a car I can afford to scrap.

You are definitely a friend, alli and fellow pioneer of myself CarDemon down at Ghetto Concept Peformance Trends.
Don't get discouraged by negative bastards, it's worth a try. Those same bastards laughed and mocked the Wright brothers.

If this gets refined I would be possible customer. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

Just for the record, This whole turn off the turbo for econmy thing dude is a bit B.S.

The turbo only becomes harder on gas than stock when the driver pushes the gas to cause the boost to climb above zero into the positive. There is only a minimal negative over stock due to the slightly increased back pressure caused by the turbine being in the path of the exaust. (High Flow will cancel this effect)

Good luck with your design, I'm not being negative about anything to do with your post, just to say that your statement was misleading.

But there was another company who make a electric supercharger tomas knight www.boosthead.com not bullcrap
if you pull this off it must be better than thier product
and cheaper than thiers is 1000$ ish....if yours is not electric ...you should still check it out anyways .....
but props for ideas and creativity...

Damn long time no post fer this topic...
I'd be in if its a guaranteed thing.. sounds like a great idea..

but the easiest thing to do is this: write your idea, draw, do everything on paper in writing/drawing, sign it and date it.. enclose everything in an envelope, making sure you photocopy everything before sealing it.. then, mail it to yourself.. the post office will date the package (your envelope).. make sure the original documents are in the envelope you mailed to yourself.. DO NOT OPEN IT EVER!! then, release your idea.. if someone comes up with the same idea, or tries to sue you, you have LEGAL proof because of the dated envelope, and then you open it in court, before the judge.. and make sure you go back to the post office to get the lip stamped as well, (where ya lick to shut it http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ), and call it a day.. this a LEGAL PROOFED COPYRIGHT, and as for a patent, it'll be going through, but you'll have legal action in case someone tries to steal your idea.. I'm done now kthx.. good luck.. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

fizzle fo shizzle

and yeah, putting your stuff in a sealed registered letter to yourself is a good way to provide proof acually!
