Summer Kick Off Meet - May 24th, 2007 - **IMPORTANT UPDATE**

It is time for the annual tradition of the summer kick off meet. It will be later this year than in the past, as spring has also come later. But be assured it will be a day to remember. This is a great was to kick off the 2007 summer season and come out and enjoy the cars, the friends, and off course the wings.

Every year, its been held on a Thursday... I think its been proven that there are more members that come out on a weekday if i remember right? But that was a few years ago. But Im up for any date...But if we were to host it on a weekend, we might run into traffic problems around that area

Past years we've taken Kennedy up instead so there are more right turns... easier to keep a group of 40 proteges together ;) I've also recommended to Kocakola that we should stay off the highway this year when heading to All-Stars so there are more cruise time :D. Plus, I still need to confirm, but I've heard that 404 Northbound has been ripped up this past week and is being prepared to be repaved

Yeah I'll post a route closer to the date, right now I wanna make sure we got the list going and I will inform All-stars of the giant resovation soon. If we do cruise up not on the highway this year, I may also change the all-star wings time a half an hour later to ensure a smooth transition. But if the Richmond Hill one is a pinned location, that's kewl, cuz IMHO, the waitresses are much hotter at the Richmopnd Hill location.... and not to mention the cruise opportunity between the destiny place and all-star

Its actually owned by the same owner... one year, when we were making reservation, the owner told us that their Woodbine location wouldn't be able to fit us all so he recommended that we hit up their larger location at Younge and elgin mills. :) I think he personally sat us last year when we were there, very pro.

From Richmond Hill to the STC Jackastors, I think it'd depend on which part of Richmond hill you are from. For most, taking 404 down and then east to mccowan would be closer. But for some who live near the edge, taking Mccowan straight down might be better.

The route from Jack Astors STC to Destiny will be on Kennedy instead of Brimley so that there are more right hand turns to keep the group together. The route from Destiny to All Star wings is suppose to be off highway since 404 north has been ripped up for HOV construction

Unfortunatly All-star wings would not take a reservation. They were not budging either. I ensured them that we brought them alot of business each year, and still said no reservations after 5pm, and not on thurs-sunday at all. They told us we could try just showing up, but I wasn't about to be waiting in their doorway to be seated in different areas around the restaurant.

With that being said I discussed it with the officers, and the restaurant and final stop on the cruise has been changed to Lone Star Texas grill (http://www.lonestartexasgrill.com/) which is just down the street from All-stars. I looked for a place that had wings still, but had a menu for anyone. They have, ribs, Fajitas, steaks, and alot more. check out the site for more menu information.

The reservation was made for 8:30pm and I will need to confirm the exact number closer to the event. so make sure you indicate in your posts whether you are attending dinner, and please follow up. If you do not like the change in location please edit your previous posts as I do need an accurate esitmate of who is coming for dinner and who isn't.

Sorry to any of you that really wanted all-star wings, I know I did, but I just didn't want to take the chance showing up without a reservation, and they just were not willing to accomidate us. We will surely have just as awsome a time at Lone Stars so I hope to see you out.
