View Full Version : Any problem with driver's seat?

My driver seat was loose after I had my car for about three months. It rocks from left to right when I make a turn on bumpy pavement. Took it to Avante and they gladly replaced the seat track for me. It's been six months and the thing worked itself loose again. But this time Avante refuses to replace it again. They're saying they never have this problem with other Proteges. And they did a spot check with other Ps on their lot and all of them have a bit of play.
So...am I the only one? And before you guys make fun of this post NO I'm not a fat ass! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

my seat is a little loose too. under heavy acceleration i can feel the seat shift a little. since you took it to Avante and got the railing replaced, i'm going to take mine to Westowne to do the same. it's kind of annoying cuz it makes a little sound too.... http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif

My seat has started to squeak occasionally when cornering.
Although I haven't noticed that it is loose at all.
The damned ergonomics of the car are still all kind of fubar for me but not enough money to fix it all.

Mine got so bad that not only it moves during hard cornering. If I go over speed bumps at a certain angle I can feel the cushion moving as well. But Avante won't fix it this time so I don't know what I can do.
Raymond told me the seat track is a $400 part. And I don't feel like getting aftermarket seats yet. Don't know what I can do at this point.

Can I make a suggestion? Since it's not just one car having this problem, arrange a group "tour" to the dealership and each person explain the problem. Then they have to take action.
I'm so tired of businesses saying "no one else has this problem". If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that over the years, I'd be retired.

As far as I am concerned this is a safety issue. The dealership better damn well fix this problem. Seats should not move or rock. If they tell you they won't fix it because all the P5's are like that then thats http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/bs.gif. I would seriously talk to Mazda Canada about this. So far I have not experienced this problem. If I do you can be damn sure I will ahve them fix it. Be very firm with your dealership do not let them off the hook.

If anyone is interested in going to Avante to get this done I'm in...just to show the service advisor that I'm not the ONLY one having this problem.
