You need to be a little more specific on what you want to paint. There's a whole lotta car there.

i think painting the inside looks really sick. i've decided i'm gonna do this on monday but i can't decide what colours to do. my p5 is yellow. i was thinking i could do all the existing silver in yellow as well as the guage cluster piece and the guage surround piece, or mix things up between yellow and silver. for example have the inside guage piece yellow and the surround silver, keep the existing silver parts and paint the rest of the centre console yellow. not too sure what i'm gonna do. any suggestions?

roswel, what u have in ming sound very good, put some blue into it, yellow goes with blue, the blue should be something like a indigo blue but lighter.
paint it and post some pics, i can't start mine until early august.....

by the way, where can i get good metallic paint for the inside?? http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

My personal opionion is less is more when you start to paint your interior. I have painted 3 of my own cars interiors including my P5 and I have found that the less I paint the more eye catching it is and the more compliments I get. I just painted all the silver in my P5 red plus the insert around the outside of the guages, door handles and around the lock knobs and switches.....it looks pretty sweet.

What kind of paint is everybody using and where did you get it?  I want to find a high quality paint that will last as long as my car.

i just finished paintingy stuff last night. it's all back in the car and it looks SICK!

i ended up going with the yellow for the guage background and silver for the surround. once i get some pics i will post.

i definately agree less is more. i didn't paint anything and with my yellow shift boot it really stands out.

as for the paint, i use SEM light titanium metallic for the surround and a clear coat on top. it came out pretty rough (although it looks really good) so i'm gonna sand it and put more clear on. for the yellow i used plasti-kote. it is an almost perfect match for the yellow p5s. it came out smooth and glossy.

just remember to TAKE YOUR TIME both with removing the pieces and with painting. the slower you go the better it all will turn out.

if you have any question, you know what to do.....ask!

i'm thinking about painting the interior, but have no clue how it will turn out (yellow) can ne1 post some pics? one other question, what exactly is primer? i ask this guy with painted interior... (this guy is showcar superstar person) and he told me to sand with 380course to get gloss off then with 400+ to take out the scratches that the 380 made then prime & dust with paint.. so what's prime?! lol, felt stupid to ask him, that's what the club is for rite... hhe

there is a post on the previous page of this thread with instructions on how to take out the dash.

as for primer, it's used primarily (haha, no pun intended) to prep a surface for maximum paint adhesion. however i sanded the surface lightly with waterproof 400 grit paper (99 cents at crappy tire) and then wiped the surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and had no problems. the paint went on super smooth and even and looks great (no sanding marks showing through).

the guy that i asked said if you dont prime it, the paint will still go on, but over time it will start to show cracks and peels... any sense to this?

i'm not a body shop guy but i would say that once the paint has cured completely that if it sticks then it will stick for good. the stuff i got is also u.v. protected so the sun will have less effect on it as far as cracking and fading. i think at least for parts this small if you put 5 coats of primer then 5+ (believe me the yellow took like 20) coats and THEN 5coats of clear the paint will be like a few milimeters think and would be in my opinio more prone to cracking because of flexing.

but what do i know....i guess only time will tell.
