January Official Event: Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 - PAINTBALL

I've been thinking about doing a paintball meet for the eastside guys for while, but after discussing with the other officers we have decided to make it an official event. So here goes.

When: Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 - 8:00pm
Where: Area 51, Downsview Parc : Map/Directions here (http://www.area51paintballpark.com/location.html)

How much:
Renters Admission: $15 (includes paintball gun, mask, free air fills, insurance & 100 paintballs)
Owners Admission: $5 (includes free compressed air fills - 3000psi & 4500psi)
Paintballs: $7/100

Total = $15(one time) + $7/each refill (if you dont have your own gun)
= $5(one time) + 7/each refill (if you do have your own gun)
(Group rates may Severly lower this pricing, but until I know how much interest there is I won't know details, so I'll keep everyone posted.

Also included in the price are overalls that cover your clothing, I would still not recommend wearing a tux underneath, but they do a good job.

The reservation has been made for 8pm - 11pm but if there is enough interest Area 51 will stay open later for us as per my request (assuming we have a larger number)

Please sign up as I need to keep in touch with Area 51 on the numbers we are bringing. I also have some games planned specially for TOP. So we need the number prior.

My friend got hit in her face mask - well on the throat protector - it hit the protector and some peices caught her neck and left a welt

Its some dangerous stuff - but if you have a high threshold of pain ENJOY! Its certainly a lot of FUN

I would like to point out that I have been paintballing many times and have never left with an sustantial bruising. If we play with "Surrender" which we will, there are no close range shots. If you sneak up on someone within 5 feet(or something similar) then you yell "surrender" the enemy has to immediatly put their gun up and walk off the field (if they don't, then you can shoot them). So really if you get shot at close range its your own fault.

as for long range shots, if you wear jeans, and the coveralls, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I'm not saying its impossible you will get bruises or welts, I'm clarifying that although some people may see paintballsing as "Dangerous stuff" -> it's really not as bad as some people think.

So don't be a sissy, and sign up :p
