It IS a very nice colour, including the leather. And it's one of the nicest Mustangs I've seen. 2003?
I'm sure you're insurance has gone up, up, up - assuming this is the GT or Cobra? (didn't notice)
Good for you.

Actually contrary to most of your belief that car is easy on gas. Aftter a trip of 600k's my MP3 had 1/4 tank... my friends cobra which had the same engine as my mach 1... was a hair line from 1/4 tank. The gearing is much different.

120 km/h = 1900 rpms in Mach 1 100 km/h is just about 1400 rpm's

120 km/h = 3500 rpms in Protege.....

My engine might be double... but it's also turning at almost half the speed. I think you can see that it's by far not a gas guzzler.

I love Mustangs, and my protege. I think it would bge a tough choice, I'd wait until I had enough money to keep my pro and buy the stang that way I could have both.

so does the shaker actually shake when you start it up??

does it give you the sideways movement when you rev it in neutral?

Yes, the "shaker" hood scoop is functional. One of my clients makes them.

While we're on the subject of Mustangs, here's a picture of mine...

55L as well....

MP3 did about 6.5\L/100km's and the stang does 7L/100km. That's about 40 cents per extra 100 km's... not too bad considering the power difference.

Nice ride and I respect guys that drive them.
I am not too hung up on domestics though and American Muscle doesn't get me 'fluffed up'.

I am in love with Nippon engineering quality, technical refinement, fit and finish.http://www.nsxsc.com/ezine_art/SideView.jpg

your MACH1 looks amazing! i remember watching a Motorweek or Motortrend Television episode on that car and it was very impressive....especially for what you pay for...

must feel awesome to break the rear tires loose at a touch of the throttle!

The car is just amazing.

You would laugh to see what it does in autocross? Buddy I didn't buy this car to go autocrossing but rather to have straight line acceleration and beleive it or not my car can stay right behind you in any turn, if not faster.....

P5 g's in a turn is what 0.85?

Try mine at 0.89.....I know it's not much but it's still higher. I am not here to knock down the P5 at all, in fact it's the best looking and handling sport hatch??? I don't even know what catagory it fits in anymore. I can take a little critism but just make sure that your statements are back up with some facts and just not assumptions. Such as my car being a poor handling car and it being bad on gas.

I used to the think the Big v8's couldn't handle and sucked back gas like there is no tomorrow... Once you try it, you will think otherwise. Btw I am at work right now on my lunch brake and I am really bored... so I might be a little edgy right now... http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Rear wheel drive with an LSD and traction control.... makes things alot easier then you think.

It really depends on the driver, but a Mustang is a capable autox car.

Ok, mine isn't but, it's 36 years old. I think I could run a better time in a Mustang then I could in a P5. The Mach 1 isn't just GT with a shaker hood scoop either. It has upgraded brakes, suspension and it puts out a bit more horsepower. Similar to the Bullit Mustang.

Domestic cars may not have the fit and finish, or refinement of imports, but imports don't have the same bang for your buck performance.

Very true....

Actually the Mach 1 handles better in an the autoX then the SVT Focus.. which is an amazing handling car.... I think those 13 inch brembo brakes in the front due just fine for stopping power....

I have the R&T magazine in front of me hear talking about the autoX. Cobra vs SVT Focus and the Mach 1... guess who wins... http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I will come out one of these times to a meet and show you guys....

It really depends on the driver. If you're used to RWD and you jump into a FWD you'll probably suck ass. Same thing vise versa.

Those magazine articles need to be taken with a mamouth dose of salt.

I'd probably have more fun in the Mustang, but it would be cheaper and less hassle to run a Mazda or Honda.

I'd have the best of both worlds in a Miata though!

JcsMP3

I know they are magazine numbers and I know that I wouldn't be able to pull those off right now with my inexperience with a RWD let alone an AutoX.

People just have a certain perception that mustangs can't handle since they are such big cars. I guess the perception is to my advantage though.. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Yeah, I know all about that perception. People go on and on about the fairmont chassis, stick axle, poor suspension geometry and such. While all of that is true, they're still very fun cars to drive and while they are larger than a compact, they're far from being big cars. Big cars have real back seats and large trunks. Well by that definition a P5 is a big car, but you know what I mean.

I'd treat that car well and hang on to it for a while. It will be worth some money some day.
