Neato pics. Love the one of FireFox's ride alone... with the engine showing "through" the hood. Looks coo

I like them Spyder. Especially the one with my transparent hood...hmmm...that might be a really good hood idea...nah j/k. Didn't I ask you to photoshop the dirt from my back window? I guess you forgot.

Nice pics Eric! However I must say that the whole blurred-background thing makes the cars look really fake...like they're toys. I like the first few, and the ones that are individual shots though!

Very nice pics. I love the background blur effects. For some reason, the blur made the cars look like toy models =)

Yea, the blurred stuff didn't turn out too well.

Weesh, you said you wanted to do some photoshoping... I"ll PM you later today with the full sized ones without those blurred stuff :)

The one of YP5 and Romeo turned out the best in my opinion for looking 'mini'. There's a guy in Toronto that is really well known for this kind of photography and you would swear everything is fake. Good job!

As usual.. Awesome pics Eric! Just like Alex said, that's the first time I've seen myself on a bike too! Kool! :)

BTW.. I really didn't want to ruin the moment for Firefox, but that isn't a Ractive intake.. the piping and the colour of the silicone couplers are different. But any intake will free up some air still.

Ya, I keep hearing that too...well, just have to ask Jarrod what it really is. That's what he says it is...it could be any brand and I wouldn't know the difference anyway, unless it was stamped on the damn thing, but you guys seem to know your shit better than me. All I do know is that the filter itself is AEM.

Is this a bad thing then, should I take it off and get a better one? Don't want to screw the engine with a bad part.

Comments please or just PM me with your thoughts, sorry, didn't mean to jack the thread fellas.

RicecookerP5

I can only see one shot of it, but it looks like an AEM intake for ATX

Spyder01
September 27th, 2006, 05:49 PM
No lol :) Actually anything is better than ractive :) It looks kind of like the AEM SRI for the automatic tranny, but the pipes lengths and couplings looks more like ebay or Vibrant? I've never seen a Vibrant one before, but I heard it looks the same as Ractive except it doesn't knock against the brake cylinder

FIREFOX

Hmmm...well that's sort of good news.:o I'm happy with it so far anyway. Still no engine light, but it will prlly happen soon.

you shouldn't get one, unless your MAF is backwards or you didn't plug the sensor in or something

Spyder01
September 27th, 2006, 06:23 PM
Why are you expecting the engine light? Shouldn't happen... did you reset your car after the install? Some people do it, but others just let the car adjust itself.

Not AEM, for sure.

Never seen a Vibrant, so can't comment, but it does fit the eBay look. (I'm trying to say it so I don't sound too much like a prick)

It came on my car with a Ractive filter, and from what I've seen of Ractive intakes, it looked the part. Mind you, it never rubbed anywhere, and there was lots of clearance against the brake master cylinder, so maybe it's not. The filter is a genuine AEM, and it's not leaking, so I'm sure it'll serve FIREFOX well until he gets a big salty pimp of an intake.

Hey Dennis, if it's not a genuine Ractive, remind me to give you $2 at the next meet as compensation.

Why are you expecting the engine light?

b/c we kept on sayin that it will...

eh yo....did u leave the car running for 5 hours for run-in period when you got home man? haha j/k

nah its not ractive for sure..i had a ractive as my 'winter' intake...definitely different...ractive's piping has a sharper bent around the mbc....the intake u have doesn't...it's either vibrant or no-name brand from ebay...

but really...the real diff. from intakes are the actual thickness/material of the piping..which makes very minimal differences....it's not going to screw up ur engine in any way unless u damage the piping and leaves a hole (thereby causing debris or other shit to get sucked in)...but other than that...u'll be fine

Junior

Everyone makes me feel like an asshole..... Shit!

Ah well,

all kidding aside fireface, don't worry about the brand, it's not a huge deal. I was merely pointing it out, not calling you out on it. As other have said, any intake will free up and take in more air, it's all good.

I just pointed it out, so that the next meet you hit up, you won't say ractive and they'll muffle some ish under their breath, like YEA right!

If anyone asks so what do you have under the hood, you simply say "intake", and then they say well what kind? you answer "short ram" ...

Problem solved.

Really? Holy shit! That's crazy! Thank god for Ractive quality. j/k

Damn that would suck(the hole that is)...anyway, it's not currently rubbing against anything. Don't really care anyway, it is temporary. I don't think you're an asshole Junior, never said I thought you were, but if that's how you feel then...maybe you are an asshole and you're in denial? Jokes man.

BTW Junior, did you know it was me that honked at you on York Mills yesterday, you had the look of WTF, who is this guy? My wife thought it was funny, so I was like, I guess he doesn't recognize me. Just remember, I'm the one with the weird lip and stock springs!

I have the same no-name/weird intake in my car. No issues, but I will be swapping out the filter for a new AEM Dryflow cause it's just easier to maintain.
