Return of Central?

We had an officer's meeting last night and one of the things discussed was a possible return of the Central Clan. There has been some talk lately where members have said they want to bring it back. If it was to come back, then we would start a seperate thread for Rep nominations.

Before that however, we want to make sure that there is actually enough activity in that area to justify it. The last time we brough Central back, the rep decided almost a day or two after being nominated that there was no need for Central and it should be shut down. Obviously we don't want that happening again.

So what we are proposing is that in order to bring central back, we would like to see a SIGNED list of at least 15 central members that are for bringing the Central clan back. This list has to be signed in person (board name, real name, and signature), to show that these members are actually going to be active in Central and come out to meets. The members do not have to be people that have been super active in the past, but hopefully with the right leadership, they will be in the future.

This should not really be a difficult task to accomplish since Central would include all of downtown Toronto. To find 15 people to sign the list should be pretty easy. It just shows that there is a commitment and a request from these members to revive their clan.

We'll leave that with you guys for now and see what comes of it.

Any off-topic posts in this thread (clan-bashing etc.) will be deleted without warning. Let's keep things on topic.

I'm in 100% the only reason I miss meets is becuase I got two jobs mon! and I'm usually working nights. If the meets were a bit closer I'd be able to swing bye before work.
As for meet locations, I vote for something close to an ice-cream or even better a Gelato shop!

Keep in mind that you need more than just a list of 15 central members... you need 15 members willing to participate.... I hope you guys are able to do this, but make sure you get what's needed.

Although TECHNICALLY I would be central (200ft west of Vic park) I would probably remain Eastside at the moment. BUT I would be coming out to any Central meets that I could, and if there is interest in bringing back central, I would sign my name in support of that, indicating I would be participating in meets etc.

there never really were too many central meets in the past. Best bet is to sort of map out the area that the central members live / work (you might even get some people that work central but live in another area, but they would still come to central meets). Once it's mapped out, find a convenient location for all those involved. It's usually best to keep it easily accessible from a major highway, and a nearby Timmies is always popular.

True, I've been trying to think of a place but they are all too small for meets or in a building like RONA.

As far as Aitch signing to bring back the clan and remaining eastside, doesn't work. If you're going to bring back the clan you're going to rep the clan and attend the meets. Or else it'll happen as it did in the past.

This has been discused, and if the numbers show, then the side can make a comeback, but Adding your name twice on the same list DOESN'T count.

Phil as a previous officer, you should be the first to understand that in the past there have been officers added, that have stepped down a couple of weeks after filling the position, or have said "let's shut down central" a couple of days after taking the position, etc. Obviously this helps nobody in the end.

The wording of my subject might not have been the best in that it's not really a discussion of bringing central back or not...because like you said, if people want Central meets, they will do it. But it's more a question of do we actually need a Central Rep and to make it official once again.

This is something that was discussed at the Officer's meeting on Monday night, and not everyone agreed on bringing back Central and having a Rep again. So this is the solution that was agreed upon.

Really, when you think about it, getting 15 people to sign a sheet of paper is not a hard task. Nobody said that it needs to be done at one meet. It can be done over the course of a few meets. I don't think it's an unreasonable request at all, and if anything, it just gives people an excuse to take a leadership role (as Cocco has done), showing they would be a great rep candidate, and gives Central an excuse to rally their troups.

That is why I am putting forth the idea that central should hold a rally meet if they can get a little organized and move forth from there :)

Unfortunately, central missed their 30 day deadline from when this thread was started to get their 15 signatures, so they will have to wait at least 1 year before they can try to resurect the clan again.

outshinning the east? the central meets are central, thats all the have going for them. 50% of the people at the meets are either Eastsiders or westsiders. Central has nothing on us, other than location.

We've been meeting pretty steady for 3 or 4 weeks now, I think that's pretty good, not a West Side meet by any means and I don't think it ever will be this year, since the weather is slowly turning on us. West or East member, you still come to the CENTRAL meet...;) :D
