July 21, 2006 - TOP Drive-In Movie Night

The night of July 21, members of the Toronto Protege Club got together at The 5 Drive-In for a movie. The movie was changed in the last few days from Pirates of the Carribean to Cars. At the meet, there were in total 5 proteges that showed up for this event. Weather 2 Proteges or 20 Proteges, this get together was unforgetable. Sitting in your own car tuned to the given radio channel and enjoying this movie was a very unique experience.

I think a few of them stayed behind to watch the second movie...Stupid HOV constructions took me 1 hour to get home :p. But thats ok, Im sure pepsi is still stuck in traffic right now cause he had to get off at Avenue and Collectors was packed with traffic. ;) Not to mention Avenue's exit was closed, ha ha ha, he ain't going anywhere for the next hour :D

sorry we didn't make it guys. I spoke with Eric, Brian, and Andrew ahead of time so that people weren't waiting around for us or anything. We've had nothing but problems with our Crapalier this past week. Tranny went on it, Wiper motor went on it, and then yesterday on Sharleen's way home from work, the alternator went on it. So when she got home, the last thing on our mind was going to the drive-in. We were pretty put off and just needed a night to relax at home. I'm sure you guys can understand.

It was a cool experience, I had never been to a drive in before so I wasn't as prepared as you :D But still, sitting inside the car and watching the movie to me feels better than in a theatre. The farmside drive-in sounds a lot closer than the hamilton drive-in, I may be interested

And to answer the question about the saturn, the roofs are NOT dent proof lol...few years ago my friend thought it would be fun to race on the gravel road by the cottage....we ended up in a ditch, so my girlfriend and I decided to sit on the roof and have a smoke while the boys assessed the situation....when we were done, there were 2 ass dents.....we helped put the car over the write off amount LOL

Last minute thing popped up and was unable to take the lead. I handed the torch off to Darren, but he too was overcome by problems.

Good to see the hardcores that made it out to rep the event, and to all the ones that said they were gonna come, and didn't ... well there's only one word for that shit. WEAK!

I'm always down for the events, and I won't miss the next one for sure!
