NEW Eastside Rep position OPEN

There has been some talk recently of some members that are interested in taking on the role of Eastside Representative. Rather than keeping the old thread going, let's start up discussion here and start fresh.

The Eastside Rep's responsiblilities are basically to welcome new and existing members to the Eastside Clan. Hold regular meets and mini-meets, and pre-meets in your area. Build Clan Spirit. Etc. The Rep will also work with the other officers in organizing large club events and in club decisions.

This thread will be used for Nominations of who you think would do a good job filling the Eastside Rep position. Feel free to make self nominations, or nominate anyone that you feel would do a good job. ONLY EASTSIDE MEMBERS CAN BE NOMINATED.

If anyone has any questions for any nominees, feel free to post them here, and nominees, please feel free to answer them. Also, if someone nominates you, please reply to say if you accept the nomination, or if you decline it. Remember that this can be a time consuming role, so do not accept it if you don't think you have the time to commit to it.

Any posts that are irrelevant (ie: clan bashing) will be deleted without notice. Please let's keep things on track.

Again,....self nominations ARE allowed. Don't be shy.

We will keep this thread open until July 24th, At which point, the officers will vote in the new Rep.

Really happy you nominate me but I must decline. Im sure many members will agree with me that although I am active on the forum and at meets, I am simply not the type of person that could 'represent' the eastside. If you've met me, you'll probably see right away im just not 'rep' material. :o

Yea guys I am up for it. I'm out representing now already, and I think we need to restore some pride to the east side (hmmmm poetry). I'm not gonna go on about why I would be the best, cause honestly, its all the same jazz anyone would say, I'll just do my best, and either way I'll still try to be an integral part of the club.

Haha, no doubt Junior is a good rep for the west, not affraid to battle with the other clans. lol I remember the first time I stuck up for the east and got in a shit show with him :p

Yes, I am the sponsorship guy. Thanks to all for the nominations, but I would like to see someone step into the eastside role who can dedicate all their efforts to it. Big ups to Ruckuss and Kocakola for steppin' up so far!

w3rd, he is the sponsorship scandal dude and he's doing a fantastic job of drawing up new scandals... errr i mean sponsors. I know Jr is doing a great job of doing Events Coordinator and Westside rep, but that's a huge time equipment and we'll have to let Steve speak as to whether or not he could handle that or not.

I've seen a lot of turnover of club executive positions in the last year and a bit. I think it's important for the eastside rep nominees to have a clear understanding of the work and dedication required so that they are prepared and don't flake out 3 months into their new role.
What can the current and future nominees say to convince the voting public that they are in this for the long haul?

^ I strongly agree with the above. The candidate needs to be prepared for the time and commitment involved in this role. It's not just "repping the eastside", but it's also being involved in the decision making and organizing of club activities, etc.

I applaud both of you for throwing your names in so far, and emplor you to please consider the work involved before proceeding with anything.

By no means am I saying that you guys can't step up to it. I'm just agreeing with Doug and making sure that you guys know that it is time consuming. That's all.

I am aware it would be time consuming, and I am fine with that. I would do everything I could to help organize events and attend as many events as possible.... there would be two time periods a year where I would be considered busy, and thats exam time, so that may be a flaw in voting me in. but the other 50 weeks of the year I'll be as dedicated as phsyically possible.

Hey, I am here. Sorry, haven't been on the board that much this week because I am in Montreal on business. As for the Eastside Rep, I am willing to put the time and effort needed. Kocokola might be a better person then I am because he seems that he would be able to dedicate more time into the position. Earlier it was mentioned to share the position. I am up for that, but its up to the club.

Eastside needs a rep regardless of who its going to be.
