Official Summer Kick-off Meet 2006

For the past two years, we've had a huge Summer kick-off meet on the eastside towards the end of April. Well, this year we are doing it again....back by popular demand. However, due to the College Strike, and people's exams getting pushed back, we've decided to push this meet back a bit to help accomodate those that got screwed by the strike.

It has been one of our most largely attended meets each year, and we have no doubts that this year will be no exception. This meet is open to EVERYONE. Eastsiders, Westsiders, Farmsiders, OG's and ESPECIALLY people that are new to the club. This is a great opportunity to get out and meet some of these people from the board. Show off your ride, see others rides, get inspired, inspire someone else....just come out and shoot the shit.

Here's how it's gonna' go down.

DATE: Thursday May 4th
WHERE: This will be a 3 stage meet as per previous years

Location 1 - 6:00pm Scarborough Town Center - Jack Astors lot (401 & McCowan Rd)(leaving at 6:30 sharp)

Location 2 - 7:00pm Arrive at Destiny Bubble Tea (South / East corner Steeles and Silverstar) (leaving at 8:00 sharp)

Location 3 - 8:30pm - Arrive at All Star Wings for Food & Drinks (YONGE AND ELGIN MILLS - RICHMOND HILL)

This will be a great meet because there's something for everyone, and for those of you that have never cruised with the club, it's probably one of the coolest aspects of these meets. Driving along in a caravan of 20 + Protege's in a row turns lots of heads and is pretty damn sweet.

What's the closest place to meet from Burlington? I have no clue where the meeting places are.

I am guessing there will probably be a Westside pre-meet setup closer to the date. Chances are that you guys will probably meet somewhere in Mississauga and cruise to Scarlem together. Stay tuned for details.

Also - to answer Vincent's question (and anyone else wondering). There is a timeline in the first post. If you can't make it in time for one location, you can always meet us at the next spot. Check this thread regularly for updates, incase anything changes.

"You don't need to be modded to come to meets. New members always seem to think that. But the meets aren't about anything like that. It's just an opportunity to get out there and meet some of the people from the club. Check out their cars, and just shoot the shit. You can learn some great tricks for your first easy / cheaper mods, as well as some more advanced stuff, or shops to deal with. Never be intimidated to come out to a meet."

sure. There were a couple there last year. The only thing that I can't promise is that there will be enough room at All Star Wings for all the Mazda3 guys as well. But if they want to swing by, and hang out at the other parts, they are welcome to come. Or if we're only talking about a couple of people, it should be okay. But All Star Wings is fairly small, so I wouldn't want to see a bunch of people show up, and then not be able to get in.

Don't worry...doesn't matter if its stock or not. When you are cruising down Kennedy Rd with 30 Proteges, no body is going to care if your car is stock or not, they just see a whole row of proteges. get to which point? If you're making it in time for the 1st stop (Scarborough Town Centre), just take the 401 East. Exit at McCowan Rd and drive South on McCowan. You will see the mall and the Jack Astors from the 401.

From Hwy401, take 404 North, exit Steeles/Woodbine and turn East on Steeles. Continue East on Steeles until you see Pacific Mall, after you cross the railroad, the first traffic light turn South (right) onto silver star, we should be parked in the plaza on the left just after No Frills

Please remember to print out a copy of the 1st post with the itinerary. Since the group is so large, we cannot be waiting for everyone on the list, so it is your repsonsibility to be at the locations on time (assuming you're not cruising with us).

Remember to bring FRS if you have one. We will be splitting up into groups of 5 cars before we start cruising, so if you have an FRS radio, it will really help.

Also - as a note. When we stop at Destiny Bubble Tea, it's up to you if you want to go inside to get something, or just hang-out in the parking lot. That part is optional. Last year a few people wondered why we didn't go inside. So I just wanted to mention that i's up to you if you want to go inside to get something at Destiny.
