Do you want black, black or more like a really dark gray/gunmetal. There should be a few options even if they are not in stock. I'm thinking Velox for starters... or RO_JA. There was a company many years ago that made wheels that were black with a polished silver lip ... the name escapes me now.

You know,
I was just flipping through this months Import Tuner and there was an add for wheels just like you describe, pbh.
For the life of me, I can't remember who it was...

I was looking for black, black. My idea is to paint the rim of the wheel yellow to match the car.
What do you guys think?

Velox definitely has some black with polished lip models now
Although they are not flat black inside...

I don't know how easy it would be to paint the polished lip, like whether you would have to strip any clear coat off it first and then paint, etc.
If you can find some 3-piece wheels that would make it a lot easier cuz then you can just take apart the middle and have the rim painted or powdercoated separately.
I think the company that I was thinking of in my first post was called Riken.

I think it's a cool idea, but it might be difficult to paint.

Personally, I believe that the idea might be a touch on the "loud" side...
I've seen the wheels that rowan talked about i.e. black spokes polished lip, and that looks good...but painting it yellow... http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

What you need are these bad boys.
I was looking at buying these gold ones for my ride.
Kinda expendsive $275+ for 17"
They are available in 48 Offset, and gun metal.
They are also available in an 8spoke, but I think I like the 10spoke better.

Are those the ADR Sokudo-10's! I was looking at the Sukudo-8's myself. Fewer spokes. To each his/her own I guess. Still, these are sweet rims!

I think in Sport Compact Car Magazine the company called Arospeed makes those kind of rims your talking about.

I wish I could say that the black rims with yellow outter rim was my idea, but it wasn't.
I can't remember where, but I saw a pick once of a car with black wheels with yellow painted out rim. I believe it was a yellow RX-7. I saw it a few times on this car site that someone here posted, but can't remember where.
Any thoughts?

Super Advan Racing wheels on the RX-7 maybe?
They used to be available in a lot of colours. But seriously, a 3-peice wheel is the way to do it right cuz you won't have to worry about overspray or any crap like that when you get it coated/painted the colour you want on the rim.
Anyway ... gooood caaaall carrr deeeemmoooonnnnnn on the Arospeed wheels

Many are the same styles as Velox tho so I will give myself 1/2 point http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Thanks guys!!!
The Arospeed rims are perfect! I decided not to paint the outer rim yellow, but instead keep it polished. Thanks for the help!!!
PS - You guys don't know of any Canadian on-line or in-town Arospeed dealers do you?

Can't think of any off-hand. Arospeed is still kind of a new name in wheels .. they actually just re-brand and re-colour the wheels which are actually made by another company ( some Japanese name.. aahh can't remember! )
The Arospeed website won't let you look up dealers in Canada ... I would try the normal big shops first ( Wheels-Direct, Wheel & Tire Zone ).
