They just snap off but there are screws under neath to get the windows and mirror controls out. Also if you remove the door opener, it's a bitch to put it back without taking out the door panel.

good luck

There is about six tabs that you have to get off in each corner and two in the center along the sides. Make sure you have already disconnected the two wires for your AC and vent control otherwise it will never come off. After that slide and exacto knife down the edge (or flat head screw driver twist and it should pop off. You will ahve a couple of Electrical connections to disconnect as well. Each of the wires just snap off under the passenger side and the drivers side. Lean downa dn take a look, you can't miss it.

To remove the centre console:

1. Place fingers into the upper vents of the centre. Grasp tighly and gently tug out from it's postion. On a scale of 1-10 (ten being strongest) pull with the force of 7. It will pop out without any damage.

2. Once pulled away from the dash, disconnect the hazard light switch at the top, the release is on the left side of the switch.

3. Be careful not to pull the console out too far at this point. All the temp control and vent control wires are short and you will pull them out of their postions if you pull the console too far.

4. There are four phillips screws that hold the climate controls to the front console. Use a racheting screw driver (as it is a tight spot) and remove the screws.

5. Once the screws are removed the front console will release.

Tips on replacing the front console:

1. Replace all four screws for the climate controls to the centre console.

2. The lower end of the console goes in first. Once the lower edge of the console is lined up on the dash the rest of the console pivots in from bottom to top. Just gently push on the edges and everything will pop back into place.

If you find that your vent and temp controls are not working after replacing the centre console you dislodged the cables.

Re-positioning the vent control cable

1. The vent control cable and controling disk are on the drivers side mounted to the side of the centre console's body.

2. Get under the dash and you will see a white 4'' disk with a black cable runnig to it.

3. The black cable housing will be floating around the area if your vent controls do not work. Find it.

4. Just to the lower right side of the disk you will see a black anodized metal clip. You must refit the cable housing into this clip. The loop of the cable will fit over the disk's little peg that adjusts the position of the wheel. Test the vents. They will work cause I said so.

Re-positioning the temp control cable

1. The temp control disk and cable are located on the passenger side.

2. Look from under the dash stright up but closer to the centre of the car. You will see a white 4'' disk with a black cable in the general vicinity.

3. Mount the loop of the cable to the peg on the disk and fit the cable into the black anodized metal clip to the lower right of the disk. Your temp will work now; courtesy of the WESTSIDE!!!

BTW
If you are missing the mysterious black clips I am talking about they have fallen some where in your car. I could not find mine so I ordered them from the Mazda Parts department and they charged $1.15 per clip.
