Well i purchased a new DV camera today and snapped some new pics of my ride. With this are some pics of my home made lower grill, it was quite easy and looks 100X better. Now i must make one for the top.Pictures (http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/murdaz2002/lst?.dir=/Protege5&.src=ph&.order=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/)

I bought a sheet of it a performance improvments, its made by Ractive and is polished aluminum. The home depot stuff doesn't look as nice and this stuff wasn't that expensive anyway.
As to where i live, Mississauga but i work in Concord, Langstaff & Jane area.

I pulled off the old grill and just put on the new one, i used 2 screws to hold it in place in the top corners. So no its not placed over the old one.
The leather was too much. $$$$
But i love it!

The trick to making the grill look good is to put trim around it like i did. It doesn't even look home made.

Love the custom leather man! My local Mazda dealer (Kieswetter in Kitchener) will send cars to "somewhere" in Toronto for custom leather work for $1600-1700. I'm sure they take a chunk of that - they wouldn't arrange it for nothing. How does that compare to what you spent?
And what muffler is that? Nice work...

The muffler is made by a company caled MBRP and is specially made for the Protege, bought it and had it installed at Zoro's Muffler in Mississauga.

ReMuXieD,
If you look at the inside of the bottom grill it has little tabs that hold it onto the plastic rails that run vertically. If you push on the tabs from the back they will pop out a little smoother. (hurts the fingers a bit but its worth it) As far as the top grill you don't really have much choice other then just yanking it!

well, i can see and feel the tabs, but the top corner ones are hard to reach.. since you gotta depress the top of the tab...

and exactly how did you fit it in there?
and how much was it at performance improvements?

Brampton, the trim is just pushed around the edge of the grill. Can take a while.
