I am looking a set of enkei rims with yokohama parada 2 tires. Here are the specs on them 225/40ZR18 92W, will those fit? are they too wide?? My car isn't lowered so I don't have that to worry about... the sedan can take a lower offset then the p5 right?

If your car isn't lowered, you can go down to a 42 offset on your G3 sedan with 215's without rubbing, but 225's may be pushing it a tad imho....

Here is a pic of the rims and tires if that helps any.. thost parada 2 tires are pretty low profile so that should help I think! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif

What's the width of the rim Drew ? If they're 7.5 your 225-width tires will definitely rub. I suggest you consider going to a 35-series profile if you still wanna go with that size, and that would probably make it stay within specs. You also wouldn't want any sidewall bulging as it would create too much flex on the sidewalls, thus affecting handling slightly. That setup looks pretty good though, very nice !

I am not sure on the width, still waiting for the guy to reply to email. I may just say screw it because those are probably going to be too wide being 225's.

The touring cars run 225's ... but they may have all had to pinch (roll) their fenders to make room. (can't remember)

Yeah Rowan you may be right, but weren't the race cars shodded with 17's wheels ? Drew's tire/wheel setup are 18's, so I'm assuming they'd be overkill for the Protege, even on the sedan, imho. Just a thought..

but if you ever do lower your car, you're most proboally gonna rub, i got 215/40/17 with Eibach and i try hard not to have 3 people in the back.
and with 18, you should proboally go with 35...

Yeah, agreed Remux, I have 205/40/17's on my G2 which is lowered at 1.75' drop. No rub when I'm alone but with a couple of peeps in the rear, sparks fly. As a result, I had to roll the rear fender lips. No probs on the front though even on turns. The 18's with 225's most probably scratch the fenders if dropped, but depending on the offset of the wheels, you might get away with it. I think Jason (YP5 Toronto) has 18's with 215's, dunno how his goes... http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Yeah I do think that this tire/rim combination is going to be too much as well. I am looking at a couple other other possibilities, I may need some advice later with different rims but thanks for the help guys and girl(s)!
