View Full Version : Side Mirror Excessive Vibration

This has been happening for quite sometime now and I was told at my 8000km servicing that this was normal. I doubt the bastards even checked it out at my specified request of 80km/hr.

I know that there will be some picture distortion, but this is more unreasonable. Is there an adjustment mechanism?

At the specified speed, windy day or strong headwind while driving, my mirror has a tendency to vibrate. This is noticed on the drivers side. The housing unit is secure, but the mirror inside seems to be a little shaky. The power mirror unit seems fine and works O.K. I can live with this problem, but I'm tired of dealrship brush offs.

Does anyone else have this problem?
What about some of you guys with lowering springs and your car ride is stiffer? Are your mirrors okay or is this my own distinctive glitch?

Yes, I noticed it too - both my '02 and '03 had/have this problem. Passenger side appears steady at all speeds.
Must be a Mazda problem in general. Good thing it's not a huge issue (like the mirror adjusting itself regularly)

I believe your problem may be related to your audio system.
I think you'll find if you rotate the amplitude control in a counter-clockwise fashion, you will find the view to the rear will become clearer. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Ian!, is that you taking long range potshots from Suburbia and pinging me off in the Projects?
How dare you?
The ghetto rattling is usually turned off when this happens and it doesn't shake the sides for some reason, just the rearview mirror though.

So, by judging some of the responses, this problem creeps up in all generations sporadically and occasionally. I can live with it as it is not grossly annoying, but wanted it corrected free if this baby is still under warranty.
