and i think i reach one of my highest spd in my P5...
pretty sure it reached 170 at one point...

Even with the bang-up, that was a great cruise.

My Carnage Story: We where going along, all was OK, then BANG! We looked at each other and both said, &quot;WTF was that?&quot; Then the road felt really, really rough, so I took it easy. I stopped at the stop sign and got out to check and sure enough, the front was FLAT and the rear was low. As you can see from the pics, must had hit something on bot passenger side wheels. The rims lips are dented, but where the bead sits, they look OK and I wanted to get rid of those crappy Kuhmos next summer anyways, so no real harm done, I guess!

It was a great day and even with everyones pics and Spyder's awesome vids, you can't fathom the true wickedness of some of those roads!

WOW! that was sooooo much fun! Man Karina and I had an absolute blast! Thanks for everyone being there, all of you were great to have along and followed well. No craziness except for B-rock discovering that snow tires don't stop very well in the dry. Hee hee that was funny!

AFTER RALLY UPDATE: I washed the whole car up after the rally and cleaned the engine bay too. Later that day my car would barely stay idleing. I thought I killed it. Check the oil........NOTHING not even registering. OOpps! put in 2 quarts. still runs like poo. Go back home pull out all my plugs, HAHA! Water in number 3 cylinder. so with q-tips and needles nose pliers all is fixed now!

wtf??!! did you burn through it do you think? Or was it not right from the last time you got an oil change? I don't remember seeing any smoke from your car.

Keep an eye on it though - if you're burning or dripping, gotta get that fixed!! If it was full when you started you have an issue somewhere. It shouldn't be going through that much.

Your right Scooter - Sportlines. I never really tested them good before that cruise and I am happy now with not only the look, but the handleing as well. Except some of those un expected DEEP pot holes of course. Ouch. Those added pics are great too. I did not get to check out the videos yet though. I want to thank everyone again too because it was an awesome time.
On a note similar to that of Johnny5's - I now have my check engine light on so I have to get that checked out... oh well. Car seems to run fine so not sure what it could be from, definitely something during the cruise though.

I remember the BANG, then I think we stopped at the next stop sign, I think, cause the car was running really rough.

I was talking to my Pop about it, and he said I've had those tyres for THREE years now, not two, so there run was over!

I have some same video as you with all the trees and what not, but i would have like to get out and get some really nice corner shots but didn't get outta the car, everyone wanted to keep going =], but yeah i got some with Johnny5 going sideways, and flinging some rocks up at the windsheild....


Next Cruise i will take off ahead and see some really nice corners and stop there and wait for everyone.

so a cruise next month?

Hmmm. must have been something in the air that day - I have a flickering CEL now as well. most of the time it's off, but once every 50-75k it comes on for a km or so, then disappears. I'm thinking it's just a loose connection. Yeah that's it.

I wanted to get out and get some sideways shots from the side of the road too but I was near the end of the pack so it was hard to get in front of everyone.

:) Just updated a few missing photos and uploaded the video files to youtube and thought I'd bump this old thread from last year for some of the new members to check out.

I still remember this cruise... It was the first cruise with TOP I went out to with a totally stock protege, with stock intake too! Had a blast! Almost pissed my pants when the car started sliding cause it never happened to me before. Thanks to Myk and sstuart for setting up this great cruise!

Still haven't figured out why the SpyderCam mount makes that rattle...Im going to be testing it out later this week to see whats causing it so I can use it for the upcoming cruise for 2006.
