I can't believe that hwydemon came up with this last night. Im still amazed! http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Take the top half plastic cover off of the steering wheel column.

Right above the lock cyliner is a black plastic block with wires running to it and two brass screws.

Unscrew the block, take the green glass out and pop the bulb and wires out of the block.

You can change it with any colour you want and you can't even notice the glass isn't there.

Chris and I put in a #74 UV LED. It looks awesome. Lights up the metal key cylinder housing and the centre console.

Nice, simple cool mod.

No...no pics. You will have to see it in real life!

I have 2 LEd UV bulbs, one for me one for Chris!

If people want some, I just need to know waht colour and either LED of coloured glass.

The LEd will give better colour, the coloured glass will be a bit brighter, but since its right on top of the key cylinder, and seeing how effective the UV LEDs are, I don't think you need brighter.

I like the UV LED idea..... put me down. Can't believe I didn't think of this before, I'd thought about changing the colours but not with your LEDs!

Whats the UV LED volt and amp rating? How did you wire it? or its a direct bulb swap? I never had the chance to actually remove that bulb....Hook me up with a blue LED.... http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Its just a swap of the #74 bulb. The UV is just a blacklight, but you can put any colour you want. Blue would look cool!
