Looks like a nice deck.
But for this price, I rather invest in the Pioneer DEH-P6400 or Pioneer Premier DEH-P640.  These decks have more features and definitely look better with their organic displays.  Are you planning on getting this deck?  Somebody wise (MP5Navy) once told me that the source of a good sounding system originates from the headunit.... so if it's possible, go with a higher powered/featured headunit.

btw, i was going to buy either the Pioneer DEH-P6400 or Pioneer Premier DEH-P640, but decided to go with the DEH-P840MP.  This way, i have more flexibility in the amps, components, subs that i want to choose, instead of getting the highest powered ones to make up for the lack of power/features in the deck.

HOw do these mp3 decks work? Do you now insted of switching your mp3s to wave to play a cd...do you just burn the straight mp3file on to a cd?

Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth cause i'm not sure if i do!!

nick,
when burning regular cds, you must convert the mp3 file to a wav file, or else the cdrom will not read the cd properly. in an mp3 cd deck, you don't have to convert the mp3 files to wav files. this allows you to burn up to 700mb (on overburn cds), which equates to about 150 tracks (avg 4 mins per song), or whatever amount of tracks depending on the size of each track. if you're an avid collector of mp3s like me, you'll have spindles and spindles of burned mp3s. i think i have 2 spindles of 50 cds each worth of mp3s.... http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif i don't think i'll ever run out of music to listen to!

Gotta love MP3 players. I had a kenwood installed and I love it, you can burn tracks in no time. I usually use CD-RW's to burn so that I can burn tracks and reburn when some new songs come out that I really wanna listen to. Anyhow, it's so simple, these days you have programs like Easy CD creator that let's you specifically burn Mp3 cd's. You can just set up different directories, for each type of musical style like Rap, Hip Hop, Rock, etc. Really easy to navigate, especially when you have a remote control for your Mp3 player. I got so sick of using the stock player and burning a few tracks on one cd.

The best time to buy a deck is after Christmas. I remember 2 years ago my GF and I went shopping for my deck before Christmas, i found one that I liked and then after Christmas the thing dropped like $100. This happens every year.
