AMP Test!

My buddy who owns a 91 Civic(don't hate he's a nice guy plus his family owns two proteges)

Has not had a system for months now......we think it's the amp.

Can any of my great, fabulous, good-looking club mates, test and look at this amp for me? I really want it to work for him, but don't know what wrong.

Have you tried a different amp to make sure it is the amp? check the fuses?

Was it working before, and just stopped?

How many channels is the amp? Are all the channels messed? Does the amp power light come on? Is he running other amps?

He's running one amp! The light is on but no juice! We don't have another amp to try on his subs.

Because he drives a shitty 91 civic the Mother Father of a car leaks from the roof. So for a little while their was a nice big puddle in his back seat. that's when he chose not to run the system because he was afraid of the wires or amp catching fire!

Is their any other trouble shooting items i should check for?

It was a good idea not to run the system while it was wet. He could've screwed up more things.

Definitely sounds like the amp is being a bitch (as long as you have checked the fuse both in the amp and the one line line with his power line). I would open the bitch up and look to see if anything looks fried. If that's the case at least you know what expect when the repair man gives you a quote. Amp repairs are costly and might only be worth it is your friend has an amp worth fixing. What kinda amp is it? Do you know the make and model?

Unfortunalty i don't know what amp he has i think is Orion. I'll take your advice Dave...i'll open the bitch up and give her!

Hey Nick when you open the amp up make sure that you keep the power connected and stand in a deep puddle of water. You will also get better results if you did the repairs on a very high hill during a thunderstorm. Wear a metal helmet to protect your hair from the rain.
