Light blub issues

People who used to be on the old board might remember that i've had problems with my light bulbs buring out super quick. Well the other day my driver side high light burned out. I removed the blub and notice that the coil inside was still intack. So i put it back in the car and it works fine.........why is this happening....the blub was fully in place an no light would shine...then reintalled and it works fine....any help would be appreciated!!

Same think happened to me on Thursday. What happened with mine is that the contacts overheated and not only slightly melted the black bulb holder but also disformed the contact. The result was a faultly connection to the bulb's leads. I used a screwdriver to bend back the contact and everything worked out. However, the heat from my aftermarket bulbs also seems to have fused one contact from the black bulb holder to the white plug! Everything works but I'm sure it will need my attention in the future.
