<span style='color:blue'>DRIVING ROUTE TO DKN</span>
DRIVE RESPONSIBLY!!!
Please read the Cruise Guidelines for a run-down of some basic Cruise pointers. ---> HERE <--- (http://ib2.toprotege.com/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=3;t=14021). There will be cops all over the place and you are representing TOP. Please do not do anything foolish.
This route has been selected to avoid line-ups to enter DKN, and to try to avoid Police interference.
At the pre-meet you will be split into groups of 5 cars. These groups will stick together. If you get seperated from the other groups, DO NOT WORRY. Do not try to catch up, STICK WITH YOUR GROUP and we will meet back up at DKN. More info to be discussed at the Official Pre-meet.

Not trying to thread crap, but just looking at last years info, and we met up at Tax's dads office at 8, and went straight up Markham rd, and got stuck in all that traffic, as well as our now events co-ordinator got a ticket and we were still really early and had a good spot, why so early this year?
For me to be in Markham at 7am is really really far and hard. why get there soooooooooooo early? so we can have a nap?

we didn't go up markham rd... we went straight up McCowan Rd. That was pure heat.
I think the reason we are going so early is to avoid the heat. Almost 800 tickets were handed out last year. Unfortunately some members got a few of those. We are taking an alternate route (as indicated by the map) to avoid the potential of speed traps/pullovers/inspections and to avoid some of the lineup.
Since alot of registered cars in the show are coming from the south and west of the DKN, it might be a good approach.

Reasons (most of which were covered by what Chops said):
1) Last year we had a section reserved for us on the grounds. This year it does not seem like we will be able to do that. In order to make sure that we have a spot large enough for all of us,....we have to get there early.
2) Leaving early in hopes of minimizing interference by the Po.
3) Leaving early (and taking a different route) to avoid the huge lines. For those of us that were there last year,..we waited in line for about 1.5 hrs to get in. Personally, I'd rather be there earlier and avoid the line completely. Then we can set up and relax inside,...rather than idling in the car for 1.5 hrs in a line.
Clan pre-meets are optional,...so as long as you're at Tax's Dad's place by about 7:20 - 7:30 (latest) you should be fine. We will be handing out the kits there adn discussing a few things for the day, so just don't show up at 7:45.

Guys,..I just noticed that there is an award for club with the best spirit. It doesn't look like we will have the numbers for biggest turnout (although we will have a respectable showing).
Anyone,..I would suggest that we all bring our TO Protege T-shirts if you have one. Myk says he should have the NEW ones in time. If not, bring last year's if you hvae it. Just so we represent the club and can possibly bring home that award.
Phil (Naveed74) also made a great suggestion about plate covers. It's last minute now, but people still might want to do it on their own. A lot of people take their license plates off at the show. Phil suggested printing off some sheets that say TOProtege.com and we stick those over the license plate for the show (under a plate cover). If anyone is willing to print a bunch of these off (as many as you can), that would be awesome. If not,..no worries.
If anyone can do it, let me know and I'll get the proper logo to you.

I think in the end I will be buying an extra set of stickers to put behind the plate. This seems to be the easiest way to get the club logo on the car (in the plate area) with such short notice.
I will also have DWM plate frames for anyone who cares to put them on the car. Kevin hooked us up with quite a few of them for anyone interested.

Can someone send him the logo?

i'm no graphic designer, so if someone can send me the logo in a file that can be opened with photoshop or coreldraw, that would be easier for me. As long as I just open the file and print. Also, lemme know the size and if they should all be the same colour, that way I can cut them to the appropriate size.
Thanks

Hey Ed;
I will send you the logo tonight and let you know dimensions, colours, etc. I would have them printed at work (I work at a printing company as well, but we're a litho printer and do large runs, so it's not practical for me to do it here).
Anyway,..what's your email addy?

2 things come to mind immediately:
1) MMMMM "Pie"...
2) American Pie, the kitchen/apple pie scene...
If they get their butts in gear in our new office, I may have access to a colour laser printer and could run off a bunch in custom colours. Scooter, can you send me the graphic too? I'll prob be on MSN tonite....

For Pie Eating Contests; I know this club has some malnourished-skinny-tapeworm-alien-infested bastards who can out-eat some of the well known Fryer Tucks. If there is a good flavor like Strawberry/Rhurbarb, you can assure my bib is on. Maybe I'll can fast a day or two and come cranky as hell.
As for the Tug-of-War, Codz(Brock Lesner) has some extra Dianabol, Stiazonol and Andro he is now stacking in his 6wk cycle. Somebody bring clean needles. I know you ravers have that sort of stuff.
I also noticed E-Diddy, Benson and A.J packing some mini howitzers too with their tight days of disco inferno shirts. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif

For those of you inquiring about the 3rd person, I'm pretty sure what you'll have to do is drop them at the front gates when we arrive. They will have to pay to enter on their own ad then meet you inside.
From what I saw last year, you can't pay extra for them during tech-in. The other problem is that the show doesn't open to the public until later on (I think 11am Saturday and 12 noon on Sunday), so they might have to play hide and go seek in the parking lot for a while to entertain themselves before they can come in.
I don't know the above for sure,...but that's my suspicion. Your safest bet would be to get your buddies to come on their own and then meet up with you once they get there.
Ed - Wicked,...we appreciate you doing this for the club. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

I thinked they were banned last year. Perhaps due to the hecatare of dry hay like grassy field a brush fire is a possibility. That wouldn't be too good as over 5000 cars try and barrel there way out of the inferno in a smash derby fashion. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Just spoke with a lady at the Darnknights info centre number. A third person can buy a WEEKEND pass at tech-in in the morning for $35 and go in with the cars. otherwise they have to wait to get in for the day.

Watch the McCowan area by Markville mall as they are pulling over all modified vehicles in a parking lot and popping hoods.
Kennedy or Warden are much better choices.
As well they had speed traps both ways on McCowan too.

Yup I noticed this as well. I ended up going north on McCowan to Bloomington, and then west to Warden, which I took south home. There were NO cops what so ever on this route, but I still watched my speed just in case.
