Wow invoice price!!! That's awesome, but I notice the Mazda6 isn't listed there. Mike or Alan, could you please check if Mazda6 is part of the deal?

on the contract, he didn't specify the Mazda6 b/c the car isn't for sale as of yet. he didn't specify the Mazda RX-8 either. however, the contract could be reworked in the future.

yo guys he said INVOICE PLUS 4%....!

employees don't even get invoice price on cars....read carefully!

anyway it's a good deal cause Ford employees get similar savings on Mazdas they purchase!

Thats awesome news. I was hoping for a dealer out this way. I'm on the border of Miss and Oakville.

People can actually order a Mazda6 now and pricing is available.

Even with the 4% on top of the invoice price, it's still better than the MSRP.

Sorry wrpfctr6

We are treating Toprotege members as X Plan which is 4% (fords supplyer plan) over invoice, and yes i did get my car at 500 over invoice so its not unheard of. ^_^

Oh and sorry the MAzda 6 and RX8 will not be on the list cus the car is too new.. but i am not saying that it won't happen in the future.

Thanks again
any questions feel free to ask me

i've sold cars for $500 over before and even below invoice before.....so i understand that it is possible....

i sold myself my 626 back in sept 99 for $400 over invoice....was kind of wierd delivering the car to myself...i pretty much did the PDI myself too.....this was back when i worked at the Markham location....

The Ford plan makes it fair for all members.....simple no hassle pricing.......i wish sales was that easy during my three years as a salesperson.....i hated the negotiating part....

We bought our MP3 from Alan in oakville...we got dicked around on the service when I asked about a intake install...so we left to burlington who is about to deliver a shiney new Mazdaspeed...makes us a two mazda family...the saying goes it is service that makes customers come back...no offense to Alan he was great...the manager was a dick made us wait 5 hours for the privilage of buying a car

Okay, let's see here... 4% over invoice...

would help if we knew what the invoice actually is. ( i know there is this thing where they don't give it out, but just for a ballpark here... is this a significant savings over the MSRP?

I'm going to be needing a new (2nd) car in August, and baby's looking for something different... (Jetta, Mini, Corolla, possibly a Volvo if the deal is right) but if I can score a Protege, I might just go that route... perhaps a sedan to change it up.

But I mean, is the 4% thing something that would be hard to get on my own? (not necessairily a good negotiator, and don't like the hastle, so it probably is) and what do I have to do to score this... membership fees here? Membership cards? a note from my rep?? I don't have any identifying marks on SushiK to identify myself as a member - and I'll not likely be putting stickers on either.)

(if you just want to PM me any stuff, or post it, or whatever... )

4% over invoice is a great no hassle pricing format....it makes it fair for both parties, the seller and the buyer....that is why it is offered to Ford/Ford associated employees....

depending on the model of car, you'll get savings between $700 and $2000
for example: Proteges you'll get around $700 savings (low margins on these vehicles)

i say it's fair for both parties cause it gives both the seller and the buyer respect in doing a serious business transaction.... the customer gets a good price without having to waste time negotiating.....and the salesperson gets paid a set amount....
being a former saleperson, i know which deals i made that i feel underpaid based on the effort and work i had to put in to earn the sale......

anyway, good luck in your car buying endeavours...just remember to do some research on the vehicles your looking at and you won't get cheated when dealing with the salesperson or sales manager....there are still many dealers out there that just don't get it....

Hello everybody. This is my first post. In fact I'm glad I found a Toronto Protege message board.

I am in the midist of shopping for a new car (1st new car)
The wife an I have it narrowed to the 2002/2003 Protege5, 5sp, A/C (maybe moonroof) and a couple small accesories.
and the 2002/2003 VW Golf.

I lean towards the 5. I have a max. monthly payment I can afford (who doesn't). I have a couple of Q's

Does Mazda (or who does their crdit) have somthing like the VW "Drivers Option" or RBC's Buy Back Program.

Any big things I should look out for when buying?

Really, what kind of prices am I looking at? I'm kinda scared here. Below 19-20k (+ gov taxes) sound reasonable?

Would it be rediculious of me to walk in to dealer and say the same deal offered above, is it really that good?

My apoligies if I have offended.

Thanks in advance.

welcome to the board........you won't be disappointed w/ a p5 if you get one........

as for pricing.......you're likely looking at 20K + taxes and other dealer charges (freight, PDI, etc).....but take advantage of the current deal from mazda canada if you're strapped for cash........0% financing and 6 months free before first payment........not a bad deal if you ask me..........on the road you can look at around $25K to be conservative........if you go for 2002, you'll likely get a cheaper deal given that it's a year old.......try that, but not sure if the financing deal will work for that........

Would it be fair to ask for a P5 for $700 below MSRP AND with the grad promotion [$600 for 2003]?

BTW, I just test drove the auto with Sport Shift.....

I think I'll go with manual thank you.
