Street glow

I'm new to the whole car mod scene (not to mention this board) and i've been wondering  just how illegal are those kewl street glow lights that you see under some cars... ive heard everything from "completely illegal" to "only illegal in certain colours" to my personal fav 'only illegal if you get caught" lol..

so if anyone can help it would be appreciated...

well i talked to a cop in the waterloo region and he said if you can see the tubes in either the front or rear then it's illegal...
so just keep 'em hidden...

you can either get them at any like carstore or a stereo shop...

that's just what a cop told me in waterloo region if yer in the dufferin peel or metro region then they might say different just hide all the tubes so you can't see any of them just the light on the ground....

or just turn them off if you see a cop..
an member in a praking lot they can't do anything..

I think it is a discretion issue. Just don't drive around with them and you are sure not to get into trouble, any other way and you are looking at a possibility.

Why the hell is it illegal? they sell the stuff at wal-mart!!! what could they do if a cop caught you? give you a $100 fine or something?

Speaking from experence.....i've been pulled over and given two seperate tickets at seperate times for changing the bulbs in my car!! both tickets were 105$..mind you i fought them and the cops didin't show up.

Carfull when in GTA, York region, duram.....all the suburban and downtown areas....the cops love to stop young good looking guys like us and give us a ticket!!

My step dad is a cop and we looked up some light shit (york region)...
-underglow kits are not illegal unless they are red then the cop has to make a discretionary call
-plate frames are illegal because they can blind drivers around you
-blinkers may be only amber/orange/red or else illegal
-brakelights must not be white, it is not per say illegal to have blue or whatever, but a cop can still give you a ticket if they aren't red and he thinks it may cause an accident.
-last 3rd brake light cannot be white/blue/green b/c white is reverse, blue is snow removal and green ... is something else but I can't remember...

just remember if you get pulled over by an asshole cop, there are so many offenses out there he can give you a ticket for what ever he wants.. trust me they are out there!!!!

Please don't just put them on the sides, I hate it when I see cars like that it looks so tacky. Your tubes should be hidden anyways or else it looks ghetto. Your goal should be to provide a nice even glow underneath your car so that you can't even tell where the tubes are......if you don't believe ask a judge at DKN this weekend!

anyone know of anywhere in the erinmills area that carries street glow kits. I'm planning on checking out the cockpit on dundas im just wondering if there is anywhere else..

Thats very true, I got caught in the plaza across commerce gate where TD bank is. Those cops charge me for having white blinkers. But in the ticket it only mention about having my eyelids covering the headlights. (Driving with headlamp covered) which goes for $110...
