Central Rep Position open

So, with all the talk going on, I've figured the best thing to do is step down and see if someone wants to take the reins.

Since starting up as rep I've done jack all, and that's hurt the side greatly. Unfortunately, I know I can't commit to doing what's necessary so instead of further floundering, let's see if anyone wants the honour.

Note: last time this position was open, there was little to no interest and I accepted so it won't be closed down. If it's the same this time (ie, no interest), the officers will be killing central and amalgamating it into east & west.

I know there's gotta be someone in Central who's willing to push forward and do this thing!

My wife and I are moving to Bloor West in a couple of months, and I would really like to get this resolved and the Central clan, at least have a presence on the board!

There are so many cool places to hang and host meets, even if the numbers are not as strong, Central should still be the Cool Place To Be!

I believe the actual Central boundaries are:

South of Steeles
West of Victoria Park
East of Jane St
North of Lake Ontario

The map is close, but not 100%

IMO the need for &quot;sides&quot; is gone. Sure it's good to have a rep for the area to help organize meets to club events, to organize some events, to help welcoming (and initiating) new members, blah blah blah. But the people who live west or central or farmside are all pretty much the same. East is a different story - they're a little strange over there... but after all we are Toronto Protege Club. If you want your own specific &quot;side&quot; where only that &quot;side&quot; can attend, you're living in the past. If you live in Bramladesh and want to think you're westside, by all means sport the westside banner. If you live in Rexdale and like sheep just a little too much, You are in a &quot;side&quot; all by yourself...

But really, who gives a fuck where you live and if you're on the north or south side of Steeles? I don't need to belong to a side to have an identity.

Thanks for the nomination Junior - but I feel the same way Kevin does. Segregation does not promote unity. Even though the trash talkin' is supposed to be &quot;all in fun&quot; it leaves scars.
I don't let my home address dictate which meets I can go to or who my friends are. I don't think Central vs. East vs. West vs. Farm serves any purpose.

When I first joined, I thought the friendly rivalry between clans was cool, I repped the Westside, just 'cause, but when Farmside came back, is when I really started getting into it.

I liked the Farmside 'We Drive,' vs the Westside 'Bling.' Its died down allot lately, and maybe it would be good to light a fire under it again!

I purposely didn't mod this forum to see where it went. Guess the results speak for themselves.

Anyway, as there's been no serious interest by anyone, I've let the rest of the officers know that if the decision is made to close central, they won't get an objection from me.
